Problem Of Traffic Congestion # Essay

The best way to solve the problem of traffic congestion is for governments to provide free transport 24/7.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?

With growing population, traffic congestion has become a concerning issue for most of the governments worldwide. Not only it has caused increased levels of stress, but also contributes to increasing pollution rates. Some people assert that in order to tackle this issue, the best measure is providing free public transportation to citizens. In my opinion, it would not be the most logical thing to do.

There are several factors that stand in way of providing free public transportation. Firstly, in terms of cost, subsidizing all expenses of public transport requires abundant of budget which might not be very practical. Instead of generating money on public transportation, the government should pay attention to other important sectors such as education or public health.

Secondly, the prices of buses and taxis are very nominal, reducing them to free, would increase the chances of corruption. For instance, a person can register himself or herself as conductor and let us say earn 20k per month. But this person employs some other at 10 k on the same job.

Looking at the other side of the coin, free public services could act as a boon for the students or poor who don’t have enough money to travel long distances, and are often forced to either take lifts or go by walking. Even more, it will reduce the crime rates as lesser number of people will take lifts from unknown people.

Overall, offering free public transportation for citizens is not feasible because of the high cost of maintenance and chances of increased corruption. In my opinion, there are other alternative methods such as increased awareness, or high taxes on personal vehicles which could prove as better options.

Better Employee – Young Or Old ? # Essay

Some people are of the opinion that young and energetic employees are the most valuable for the company while other argue that older employees have more experience and knowledge.
Discuss.

With the young people getting into jobs, a universal discussion on whether young employees play critical role in an organisation over the older or experienced workers, has come into fore front. Although some favour the energy and the novelty that a youngster brings along with him/her, many are of the opinion that the experience is what helps in taking better decisions.

There are certain factors that do favour the young. Firstly, with technological advancement in the every field, youngsters have become the preferred choice. This is because young people have just graduated and are more familiar with the latest technology and keep themselves updated.
Secondly, younger workers are more flexible and adjustable when it comes to change departments or positions. This is mainly because the young is only responsible for himself/herself, unlike the older generation which has lot of responsibilities.

Turning to the other side of argument, older generation come with their experience, which is very important in the jobs requiring responsibility. They are more aware of the tricks and traps of the games and can mostly make better decisions. Even more, older employees have worked in technologies which are now obsolete, which can help them to create new things.

Overall, in my opinion, the true value of a company is a vibrant, energetic and ready to learn, relearn and unlearn, employee. It could either be a young candidate or an older gen person.

Importance Of Art Based Subjects # Essay

Some educationalist believe that non-exam, art based subjects, such as music, drama and art should be compulsory in secondary school curriculum. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

A school is for the all-round development of a child, which includes, both personality as well as intellectual development. Most people are of the opinion that having non-exam based subjects such as music, drama and art give a boost to the varied inherent skills that students have.

The subjects other than math and science would provide students with more choice. They learn skills in a way that is not just job oriented. Even more, a personality of a person is defined by the extra-curricular activities, and art based subjects provide the exposure an early impressions required for increasing creativity. This is the sought after trait in any profession and would greatly enhance the prospects of any youngster.

We are in an era, when the world needs more of inventors, artist, painters an performers as much as we need doctors and engineers. Although in a rush of getting a job at the biggest MNC, causes these subjects to be pushed to the periphery and not thought of as important. It has been observed that students who do not study in schools which have art based subjects tend to develop a narrow view of the world.

Overall, there is an opinion that studying art would not lead to a meaningful career and could quite possibly land the art graduate into unemployment. I believe, art based subjects provide essential skills that can be useful for architects, designers, scientist or any other professional to use sound, visuals and creative representation of their ideas.
