Dear Sir or Madam,

Sample Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have recently found out about your ‘Summer Peak’ Adventure camp through a leaflet in the Local Newspaper.

My friends and I are curious to know more about the facilities provided along with a little elaboration on what the included specials such as ‘River Rafting’, ‘Mountain trekking’, ‘Wood exploration’ and ‘Natural Craft’ include. We also have some other basic inquiries on the campsite, for instance: how large the campsite is, if the meals provided are inclusive to the package and how far away this campsite is from the nearest airport.

Another question is regarding the cost of our stay. The deals mentioned were only for smaller groups, but we are be a group of 7 people staying for a week and we are guessing we would require two ‘family tents’. Since we are students, could you also include the student discount offer mentioned? We will come in our summer holidays, preferably during the first week of June.

My friends and I look forward to hearing from you as well as coming to stay at your summer camp.
Yours sincerely,
Amit N.

IELTS ESSAY : Causes and Solution To Environmental Damage

Sample Answer:

In today’s materialistic world, the demand and production of consumer goods are rising at an unprecedented rate. This trend is exacerbating an enormous pressure on the environment. This essay will look at the reasons behind this issue and propose some solutions.

One of the main causes comes in the form of the infamous material plastic. It has become so widespread that a world without it is quite unimaginable, toothbrushes to medical machinery are all made up of plastic. From the making of it (made from refined crude oil) to the eventual largely improper disposal, it is one major bio hazard all the way through.

Another cause and effect factor would be e-waste. Despite electronics being fairly new to this world, they have already caused more than their fair share of environmental damage. While the fad for newer technologies is to blame for speeding up the damage, most of the blame lies on the improper disposal of these compound gadgets. Electronic garbage from various devices contain dangerous chemicals such as lead, cadmium, beryllium, mercury, and brominated flame retardants. When they are exposed to nature in land dumps, they can make the environment a more toxic place.

It is an unspoken agreement that the larger demand causes for larger exploitation. This would be fine if it weren’t for the fact that most of the assorted wastes have their own disposal methods. Sadly, these processes are largely unheeded by waste disposal authorities who instead choose to incinerate unsorted scraps, causing an even bigger environmental issue.

This is where the lack of stern policies come into play making what could be a great solution or regulation policy into a loophole allowing further abuse of the natural world. Enforcement of these pre-existing policies is a must, especially on large scale corporations. While the common people can do their bit by using the 3 R’s, we will make much faster progress if the authorities are questioned and regulated before the population.

IELTS ESSAY : Scientists and Technology or Musicians and Artists – Who Is More Valued ?

Writing Task 2: IELTS ESSAY: Scientists and Technology or Musicians and Artists – Who is more valued ?

Scientists and technology experts seem to be more valued by modern society than musicians and artists. To what extent do you agree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.
You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Sample Answer:

Art and science are said to be the standing pillars of our society. Both, an art enthusiast and a scientist, play an important role in the formation of our society. Their contributions together are highly appreciated and praised by the world. Their work has influenced many generations. But, deciding on who plays a dominant role is difficult. However, in today’s world where discovery and innovation are the buzzwords, I think that the scientists have the upper hand.

An artist is capable, hardworking and said to even depict one’s mind. In the past, an artist was a shining armour in the dark for many. An ideal example would be the reference of M.F.Hussain, who was admired by many people for his outstanding paintings. The works of some amazing artists like Da Vinci, Othello, etc. also requires a mention. Various artists have also depicted the evil side of the society like child labour, AIDS, Women Crimes through their art.

On the other hand, scientists are constantly working to make our lives simpler. The scientific revolution is considered an epic. Through new discoveries, they aid the society in overcoming the obstacles and challenges. Scientists come up with ideas to improve our quality of life. Through them we are able to achieve longevity, excellent innovations and discover the wonders of nature. Adding to this, scientists also do research and experiments to withdraw all the possible threats to the society. Meanwhile, almost all the equipment that we use In our day to day life have a series of efforts behind them.

So from the above discussion, my conscience favours a scientist than an artist with concerns to their contributions. Both these as mentioned earlier are vital for us. An artist acts as a source of inspiration and information, whereas a scientist works as a source of innovations and inventions.

IELTS ESSAY: Which is better: Single-Sex Schools or Co-Ed Schools?

Writing Task 2: IELTS Essay: Which is Better: Single-Sex Schools or Co-Ed Schools?

In many countries today, parents are able to choose to send their children to single-sex schools or co-educational schools. Some people think that children going to single-sex schools have disadvantages later in life.To what extend do you agree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.
You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Sample Answer:

Around the world, it is usually decided by parents whether to send their children to single gender school or a mixed gender school. It is understood by many that studying in a single sex school has tremendous negative impact on a young child’s life when they have grown up. I completely agree with this side of the argument. In this essay I will discuss the problems faced by both male and female students.

Firstly, one major drawback faced by the boys having studied in a single gender school is uneasiness while communicating with the opposite gender. They find it difficult to open up and communicate with girls. This often leads to a lot of trouble in their later years. They face severe mental pressure when they enter institutions and colleges as they often feel left out.

Girls from same sex schools also face difficulties. They feel less confident when they pass out from schools and join universities which have people from both the genders. As they have never interacted with males, they often feel dominated by the large number of men in college or workplace. They prefer being isolated or surrounded by the same gender members, which does not contribute to a healthy workplace.

To sum up, I believe that studying in a single sex school does not prepare students for the real world. Children of such schools encounter a lot of problems in life in the areas of communication and confidence, compared to the ones studying in co-educational schools.
