CUE CARD – Describe a positive change in your life

Speaking -Part 2 (Cue Card)

Describe a positive change in your life

You should say:

    • What the change was about?
    • When it happened?
    • How it happened?
    • And describe how it affected you later in life
Sample Answer

Since my childhood, I was in the impression that being from a metropolitan named Delhi, makes me superior to others and gives me an upper edge. I would always treat my mates, belonged to Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, in a not so welcoming manner. Until, I came across this girl, Anjali. She put up from one of the remotest areas of Uttarakhand. The kind of command over English she possessed, yet the humbleness she had in herself, was truly inexplicable. She really made me think that being better at one skill or being an urban guy doesn’t make you an elite personality. I, who always procrastinated my tasks yet boasted stolen thunders, actually pondered over it, in fact, I had to. Well, eventually, I endeavoured to be like her. I began to see everyone from the same prism. Seems like, now, I have started giving priority to assessments over judgements.

Describe a successful small business.

You should say:

    • Who runs the business/how do you know about this              business?
    • What is the business?
    • Where is it?
    • Explain why you think it is successful
Sample Answer

India’s economy is thriving. Nowadays, most people would rather work for themselves than an employer. People have established numerous tiny businesses, and now I’ll discuss one of their enterprises in my nation: jaywalking. Jay Jajhal, a youthful entrepreneur, founded the quick fashion company Jaywalking in 2016. He was raised in a family of aspirational lower-middle-class parents. He was a typical young man academically. Later, at the University of Mumbai, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in fashion design. He decided to start his firm after discovering his interest in business while studying fashion design. His clothing was extremely rare and had custom designs, which immediately made this brand popular. Regular consumers of this brand include actors Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, Scoutt, Shubhman Gill, and many more. The vast customer base that this company has gathered in a short amount of time is the primary factor in determining its success. Additionally, this company works on many humanitarian issues and hires women. This company has been entirely self-funded up to this point and hasn’t received a single round of investment. The founder has plans to diversify the product line and appeal to clients around the world in the future. In conclusion, Jaywalking is among the fastest-growing businesses worldwide, and the quality of their goods surpasses that of many pricier clothing labels.

Standing at the podium I was shivering with anxiety but I collected my courage and took a deep breath. Fortunately,  I completed my task and even received a standing ovation from everyone.
