Sample Answer:

In the present scenario, it is extremely important to have experience rather than just the subject knowledge. With the passage of time, practical skills are overpowering the value of formal degrees. In my opinion, skills and theoretical knowledge both are equally essential, which will be discussed in this essay.
Formal education provides an evidence that an individual is qualified for a job which also inculcates job-specific skills. We can not trust a doctor who does not possess a medical degree. For professions such as doctors, engineers, teachers, it’s essential to have a formal education otherwise it will put a question mark on their authentication. In addition, Educational achievements and income are associated to each other, better the education, higher the salaries. For instance, doctors, engineers, advocates are among the highly paid professionals, hence it is very important for individuals today to complete a college education.
On the contrary, any formal degrees can not prove that an individual is actually capable of the job in the real world situation. There are instances where better-educated workers also have lower rates of unemployment due to lack of experience and practical skills. Acquisition of new skills always adds weightage to one’s professional value. That is the reason why internships are gaining popularity these days. These trainings provide skills and hands-on experience to individuals.
To recapitulate, in an ideal case, both the education and experience are required for an individual to excel in real-world job situation. Academic knowledge helps in being more versatile while practical skills help in advancing your expertise. (260 Words)

IELTS Essay – Extra classes for children after school

IELTS Academic Writing Task 2. Essay – Extra classes for children after school

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

Many parents today organize extra classes for their children after school and at the weekends.

Do you feel that this is worthwhile thing to do or do you feel children have enough education at school?

Sample Answer

Over the past few years, people have become used to the idea of extra classes. Nonetheless, the effectiveness of this practice is a matter of debate. While some assert that it puts a burden on a student’s life, I think that these classes can be highly beneficial.

To begin with, extra classes are more personalized and problem-specific for the students. Children have the freedom to discuss complicated questions with the teacher which is not possible in a formal class as the teacher is under the pressure of completing the syllabus. What is more, teachers can give full attention in one-to-one sessions. Students, therefore gain a piece of in-depth knowledge about the topics. It also encourages students to do group study which enhances their team spirit. Supplementary classes can also help the students to revise what they have learnt in schools. Such classes improve and enhance the knowledge of a student as they can get immediate solutions from the teacher which is not possible in self-study.

On the contrary, extra classes can be an unnecessary burden on children. Not every student requires extra attention. When students are forced to attend extra classes they become uncomfortable and lose their interest and attention in regular classes. What is more, every student is unique and has different needs apart from academic. Extra classes will waste the time that can be utilized in games, competitions or developing other important life skills.

Overall, in my opinion, extra classes are an effective approach to enhance students’ academic performance. However, parents should understand the needs of their children and focus on their overall development. (270 Words)

IELTS Speaking Task Cue Card: Describe your favourite part of the day.

Describe your favourite part of the day.
  • Which part of the day is it?
  • What do you do during this time?
  • How is it different from other parts of the day?

evening-hours Best IELTS Band 7 coaching in Dehradun

Sample answer

A day is divided into four parts namely morning, afternoon, evening, and night. I like evenings more than any other time of the day. I am not a morning person at all and find evenings to be more in sync with my character.

Evening hours follow the afternoon from four or five o’clock to seven or eight o’clock. Mornings to me seem highly tiring and it is a chore to wake up every morning and go about my daily routine. Evenings, on the other hand, are more relaxing for me. This is the time when I can be done with my routine tasks and get some time to relax. Actually, I have many evening rituals that consist of having a cup of coffee along with a good book to read, to watch a movie, to sit and talk with my family, or to play with my dog and take it out for a walk. This time is soothing and rejuvenates me after a hard day’s work. I can find different ways to unwind and reinvigorate myself.

Evenings are different from other times in the day as they have a more calming effect and urge you into a state of relaxation. The sun sets during this time and it goes dark signifying the start of the third part of the day. This phenomenon is always a satisfying sight to see, regardless of the surroundings and the weather. This is why I really enjoy the evening more than the other times of the day.

Writing Task 2 Essay # Traditional food

Academic Writing Task 2
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
Convenience foods will become increasingly prevalent and eventually replace traditional foods and traditional methods of food preparation. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience
Write at least 250 words.

Sample Answer

Recent years have witnessed a dramatic change in the type of food people consume. Nowadays, convenience foods or most commonly known as processed foods form a major part of most people’s diet, especially in developed countries. Considering the strong influence of this trend on global food habits, it is often claimed that the popularity of such foods will rise substantially in the future and traditional foods will disappear. I completely agree with this statement.

There are two main reasons why processed foods are likely to become more popular in the coming years. Firstly, the decline in family size and the increase in single-adult households have rendered cooking unnecessary. In the past, people lived in large families where one person looked after time-consuming domestic tasks such growing and preparing food.  Definitely, this way of living was more economical in those times. But, in today’s fast-paced world, where nuclear and single parent families have become the norm, preparing food daily is often seen as a useless and boring activity.

Secondly, the number of full-time working mothers is increasing day by day. Maintaining a fine balance between personal and work life has become a herculean task for many females. Most of them, therefore, prefer to use the fastest means of satisfying their children’s hunger. Since convenience foods take less time to prepare, they generally turn out to be the easiest option. Undoubtedly, this trend is a serious threat to the existence of traditional foods as our young children are highly likely to imitate what they see every day.

To sum up, I strongly believe that there is a close relation between our way of living and food habits. In this modern world, people are choosing ready to eat foods over conventional foods for two main reasons mentioned above. If this trend continues, I have no doubt that traditional food will become a thing of the past. (313 Words. IELTS Band 9 Standard)
