There always exists a relationship between education and socialisation to advance the cognitive development of an individual. Nowadays, education has become technology driven and easily accessible. Some people prefer classroom learning while others favour online courses. Both the online and classroom classes have their own advantages and disadvantages. Suitability and selection of a course depend on an individual’s choices and circumstances. There are valid opinions to weigh both the sides of the discussion, which I will consider in the following paragraphs.

On one hand, classroom learning promotes the social, emotional and psychological development of the students as they learn together in a group. As a result, students develop skills of team building and group dynamics through mutual interaction and discussions in the classroom. In colleges and schools, classes are collaborative and more interactive. There is a two-way communication between the teacher and learners to understand concepts better. Moreover, it also supports participation and immediate feedback.

On the other hand, in online classes we can take the lectures conveniently anywhere, without travelling to campus. We get the facility to attend the classes anytime due to the option of flexible classes.  Online courses are comparatively cheaper as there is less fees and no transportation and stationary costs are involved. Virtual classes are suitable for those who are working and are unable to attend the regular classes.

Overall, in my view, classroom teaching is better than the online classes. This is primarily, because, the knowledge cannot be imparted in the same way to different types of learners. Different students have different levels of perception and understanding. Students get personal attention of the teacher in the classroom. It further helps the teacher to understand the potential and personalities of the students to teach them accordingly.

Celebrity endorsement has become quite popular. Even mediocre brands are following this trend for promoting or launching a product. Certainly, product endorsement is a traditional and highly effective marketing strategy to spread brand awareness. Nonetheless, it also bears certain risks as well. In this essay I will discuss both advantages and disadvantages of celebrity branding.

To begin with the advantages of celebrities advertising for different companies, building trust is the main positive. A large number of people consider these celebrities as their role model and trust them. Therefore, they find a product authentic and acceptable if their favorite celebrity is advertising it. Furthermore, it becomes easier for the people to remember or recall the advertisement if a famous personality promotes it .

Looking at the other side of the argument, the predominant disadvantage is the cost involved in this promotional activity. Companies which are  able to spend a huge amount of money on advertisements care the biggest beneficiaries of this practice. On the other hand, financially incapacitated  companies cannot sign a celebrity to promote their brands. Hence, in spite of making quality products their business suffers. Sometimes, such marketing practices can adversely affect the goodwill of a company. I mean to say that negative publicity of the celebrity has a direct impact on the revenue of the company. Declining stardom of a public figure can bring a substantial drop in company’s overall sales.

Concluding both the sides, celebrity endorsement is indeed a powerful marketing strategy. It helps in market expansion. Moreover, it can  positively affect the perception and purchase intentions of the customers. I believe, the benefits in terms of trust and reliability outweigh any drawbacks.

People sleep less than before in many countries, causing sleep deprivation. Why do people sleep less? What effect does it have on individuals and society?

SAMPLE ANSWER

Sleeping patterns have drastically changed in the past semi-centennials. Increased work-load, competitiveness and the dramatically changing landscape has left many people awestruck and others tired. One day seems shorter, schedules are crammed and precious sleep hours are sacrificed – tossing, turning or working. This has led to sleep deprivation amongst individuals.

With sleep deprivation, more people are becoming stressed increasing the amount of anxiety, depression and sleeplessness among individuals. Medical directors at major universities have claimed economy as a major factor for losing sleep. There are many clocking more than average hours while there are others, left with no job at hand. In both scenarios, the stress is overwhelming.

Aside from financial anxieties, in just a decade, society has become more around-the clock and more complex. With the advent of the internet, cell-phones, we are increasingly becoming 24-7. People are able to be active at any time. This increased activeness has led to people ignoring their sleep patterns and working in odd hours as well.

Sleep-deprivation causes sleep loss- induced neuron behavioral effects which often go unrecognized. For example – attention deficiency disorders, problems in judgement and decision making, such as medical errors. Often the performance of employees is observed to decline in short term recall of working memory. Even further, any work requiring divergent thinking deteriorates with time for individuals.

Overall, the changing landscape of business and the coming of internet has changed the way people sleep often creating troubles, that go unseen. With large number of individuals competing to make a mark, the society in large has become workaholic, with times even causing performance degradation.

What Do IELTS Band Mean:

Have you ever wondered what do IELTS band stand for? What do the world means when
it says, you have got band 7? And then what does it mean if they say you got a band 3.
Here, I am, decoding what goes behind these words.

BAND 9-: when I say you got a band 9, it means you have a accurate and fluent command of the language.

BAND 8-: It means you are a very good user. Although you do have good command of the language, you do make some
mistakes, may be in not so familiar situations.

BAND 7-: Band 7 refers to the fact that you are a good user. Although you can operate well using the language, but there are some occasional inaccuracies, misunderstandings and inappropriateness in some situations.

BAND 6-: A Band 6 means you can fairly use the language and understand it, usually in familiar situations.

BAND 5-: If your are a Band 5, it means you can go about and have basic communication in your field. Although, you are bound to make mistakes if taken to unfamiliar situations.

BAND 4-: A BAND 4 person has basic competency with the language in familiar situations.

BAND 3-: If you are BAND 3, you can understand and convey basic English words.
BAND 2-: You can not do a real communication in English if you are a BAND 2. You may use some isolated words.

BAND 1-: You essentially have no ability to use the language. May be very few words.

BAND 0-: You did not attended the test.
