Speaking Part 2 (Cue card): when you wanted to help someone Best IELTS Band 7 Coaching in Dehradun

Sample Answer

As a philanthropist, I am generous and have concern for humanity. I utilise my time, energy and other resources to help others. The nature serves and supports the mankind without expecting anything in return. Likewise, we should also serve others unconditionally as often as we can. It takes around an hour to reach office from my home. So, I usually leave at 7:45 am every day to reach office in time. Few days ago, by chance, I got late for the office as my alarm clock did not ring in the morning. Moreover, that day I had to give a presentation to the board.

While on the way to office, I stopped my car at traffic signal. Suddenly, I saw an old man sitting across the road and had bare minimum clothes over his body. He was chilled to the bone due to extreme cold weather. He was probably starving and looking for some food. I really wanted to help him by giving him my blazer and some money so that he could buy some food and clothes. The moment I decided to get off the car to help him, the traffic started moving due to green signal. I was unable to stop my car in the moving traffic. Moreover, I was getting late for the presentation as well. Therefore, I did not wait anymore and continued moving towards my office.

I felt as helpless as I had to choose between the duty and desire to serve. That incident shook me to the core and I kept thinking about that old man throughout the day. Although I was appreciated and applauded for the presentation by the board members, I was still feeling deficient and desolate.

IELTS Writing Task 2: The older you get, the more difficult life becomes Best IELTS Band 7 Coaching in Dehradun

Sample Answer

Many people think that life becomes more difficult as we get older. But I believe, it entirely depends on our attitude that how we perceive life. There are different stages of life and all are full of hardships. The nature of difficulties in life may vary from time to time. Life is all about facing difficulties as we learn to grow amid challenging circumstances. As long as we live life with a positive attitude, we can fetch the best out of it.

During the initial stage of life, we have less responsibilities and more enjoyment. But we learn basic things like crawling and walking with the support of our parents. As life moves forward we get the pressure to perform well in studies but we also get the pleasure to enjoy with our friends. Problems related to career, marriage etc. start manifesting in adulthood. The level of needs and responsibilities increases with the increase in age. While facing problems at different stages of life, we realise our true potential and get the power to win over such obstacles by acquiring skills, knowledge, and wisdom.

Life certainly becomes tougher in older age as far as physical strength is concerned. The elderly indeed have certain health issues with low level of energy. However, some aspects of life may be simplified with age as we are left with limited duties and responsibilities to fulfil. We get more time to spend with our family and friends. Therefore, in a way life becomes easier in old age as we start accepting life with an open mind set.

To sum up, though life is difficult and full of ups and downs, it is still beautiful. Difficulties prevail throughout various stages of life, but it entirely depends on people how we handle them to lead a better life. By inculcating habit of saving and maintaining a healthy life style, we can make our life enjoyable. So, we can say that different stages of life have their own pro and cons.

Writing Task 2: History Versus Science Subjects Best IELTS Band 7 Coaching in Dehradun

Sample Answer

Primary education has always played a major role in building the foundation of knowledge. Students study various subjects to enhance their understanding about different areas of life. History is one of them, which provides us knowledge about our past. Some people believe that history must be taught in the primary schools, whereas, other think that the priority should be given to the subjects like Science and Technology. I will discuss about both the views in my essay.

On one hand, this subject is essential to learn about the evolution of societies and causes of change. Moreover, we also get to know about different cultures and dynasties prevalent worldwide. History compiles real life stories which further motivate many people. It also educates us about the causes of sufferings we had in the past. This knowledge can help us avoid those mistakes in the future. We generally believe that one must not dwell on the past rather should focus on the present and future. But the roots of the present and future are always linked to the past. Hence, we cannot ignore the importance of knowing about the past to create a better future.

Certainly, history is beneficial to mankind. Nevertheless, the absence of its practical applications in today’s contemporary world has affected its popularity. Cramming dates and years of the past incidents kills the creativity of the learner. Today’s generation is focusing more on technological innovations for future developments. For that reason, subjects like history do not fit into the current education system. In addition, teachers use conventional methodology to teach History. Consequently, the subject becomes boring and less participative.

To conclude, students often question the relevance of having a history class in the schools. But they do not understand the intensity of change this subject can bring to our lives. Every subject has its relevance and contribution in our lives. Even though, in the age of robots, it is essential to study science based subjects, in my opinion, the information about our culture and origin is equally important.
