Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in regard to the missing receipt of the new bank card that I had applied for.

Two weeks ago I had asked for a new bank card because of some issues in my old bank card. It was told to me that the new card will arrive after seven days. I did got the envelope claiming that I need to acknowledge the receipt in it but to my disappointment I have not received any receipt. The envelope had a letter from your bank describing about how to use the card and what are the advantages of it.

I am concerned because it might also be possible that the card was lost while it was being sent or there are some problems with the bank. Either ways, my old card has stopped working entirely and I am in an urgent need of the new card to make transactions related to my business.

I would like you to look into the matter and issue me the card as soon as possible.

Complaint Against Services # Letter For IELTS

You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
-give details of what went wrong
-explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
-say what action you would like the manager to take

You should write at least 150 words.


SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,
The reason I am writing to you is the poor quality of services provided to me during my last visit at your hotel. The services provided were excellent for the first few hours after I checked in but the issues started popping up when I started staying.
The first issue that I noticed was that the heating system of the hotel was not working. While making my bookings I was assured that I need not bring along any blankets as there is a heating system and I will not face any issues. However, when I inquired to the staff about it they plainly told me that it is not working and I must make my own arrangements regarding it. When I tried to contact you by phone, no one would give me any sensible answer.

The next major issue was of water. You can imagine how frustrated and puzzled I was when I was informed that there is no hot water available and I need to take a bath with cold water only. I was thankful that there were geysers available in public bathrooms or else I had to suffer. Adding insult to my injury, they even asked me to leave a day before my planned check out day.

I am very disapointed with the service I have received. Therefore I expect refund as soon as possible.

You have recently moved to a new apartment and found some issues in apartment. Write a letter to the landlord and explain
– What do you like about the apartment?
– What are the issues there?
– Suggest a solution to fix them.

Dear Madam,
The reason I am writing to you is the number of issues that have arisen in the apartment that I have moved into. After living there for few days, the issues started popping up.

I took the apartment on rent from you last week on 13 and I really loved the apartment as well as the surroundings. The neighbors are fantastic and the locality is very healthy and pleasing. However, I am facing issues with basic amenities in the resident. When taking it you assured that there will be 24/7 water supply but to my disappointment the water comes only for an hour and that to at random hours.

The second issue that I am facing is the leaking rooftop of my bedroom. It was fine for the first few days, but the leaking has not stopped since the day it rained. This has forced me to sleep in other room, creating a complete chaos in otherwise fantastic apartment.

I am quite disappointed and more importantly puzzled with the issues and would like you to solve them as soon as possible. You can either send a plumber or come yourself to check the entire situation.

You travelled by plane last week and your luggage was lost. You have still heard nothing from the airline company.
Write to the airline explaining what happened. Describe your luggage and tell them what was in it. Find out what are they going to do about it.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by your airline company, during my last travel about two weeks ago, from India to Bahamas. Although the flight was fine, my luggage got lost on my arrival.
I took a two way flight from India to Bahamas, from your airlines on 15th of this month. I had no issues reaching Bahamas and the luggage was given to me on time. After completing my three day visit there, I returned to India on 18th of this month. Although the services provided were fantastic during the flight, I was surprised to have found that my luggage is missing.
I was carrying a blue bag and a suitcase. The bag had my laptop and other important official documents which I had to submit at my office on reaching. The suitcase, had my clothes, hard disk, and other random things. Although the clothes are not important, but the hard disk is very important for me.
When I contacted your representative, they told me that it must have got left out while picking luggage from Bahamas and it will be returned back to me within a week. I was a bit hazy but they provided me the assurance that within a week they shall call me and return me back the suitcase.
Naturally, I waited for the call, but after ten days, I was bound to return to the airlines. On reaching there, I was told that they have not received any such complaint and hence, no action was taken place. I then asked them to call the person who assured me ten days back. Imagine my feelings when I learned from him that there has been no action taken since they were busy with other important customers. When I tried to contact you by phone, no one could offer me any sensible answer. As a solution he offered that I wait for another one month, before I receive the luggage.
I am very disappointed with your airlines and expect that my luggage be returned as soon as possible.
