In today’s world, knowing only one language is not enough. Due to globalization, the importance of foreign languages has increased more than ever before. Knowledge of different languages provides us a cosmopolitan approach to respect global diversity. In order to improve the social accessibility, I would like to learn French. It is one of the most frequently used languages worldwide after English.

As an International language, the benefits of learning this language are innumerable. In India, French is the most crowd-pleasing choice among the people who want to master different languages. Learning French language not only helps in enhancing our communication skills but also opens the doors to study abroad. Many French companies are setting up their regional offices in India and offering numerous career options in different sectors. Therefore, the ability to speak French will provide me an opportunity to work in these companies.

Generally, most of the people think that French is  a difficult European Language. Taking out time from my hectic schedule to learn this language will be a challenging task for me. Firstly, I will have to search for an excellent French tutor. In order to learn, speak and write French effectively, I will have to memorize the French verbs and their prepositions properly. Further, I may also face challenges in picking up accent and pronunciation. But I believe, discipline, self-study and motivation are the keys to achieve a higher proficiency. I will overcome all the difficulties by referring to relevant study material along with regular practice.

Overall,  culture and languages are inextricably intertwined. So, we learn about the cultural heritage of a country when we learn its languages. Moreover, being a multilingual sometimes, makes us noticeable and leaves an everlasting impression on others.

In my country there are many historical monuments. My country is known for its rich cultural heritage. I am from the capital city and there we have many old buildings, some are from Mughal era and some represents the British era. As I have great interest towards history that’s why I have visited many of them like Red Fort, Old Fort and Qutub Minar.

Recently my college organised a historical trip to Agra as this city is famous for the most famous monument of our country that is the Taj Mahal. It is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. The mausoleum is made entirely out of white marble and decorated with many other precious stones.. It is one of the most beautiful historical buildings. It is also one of the seven wonders in the world. This is very famous among people as a symbol of love. It was built by the Mughal emperor, Shahjahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died during child birth. It took 20 years of time to construct this pristine beauty. But it has one more story behind it that Shahjahan chopped off the hands of the architect who designed the whole idea of this building. It is said that he never wanted that the world has another monument like Taj Mahal.

It is considered as one of the most romantic tourist spots in the world. Many tourists from all parts of the world come to India to see the beauty of this token of love.

The modern lifestyle is definitely a busy one and the workload of studies becomes very tiring sometimes. In such situations, a day off or a holiday is always a welcome treat. I have had many such breaks from work but a memorable experience was during my first job.

It was during the summers right after my graduation and I was working on a project with a deadline that was very near. Soon my team completed the project and we were rewarded with a day off after the submission date. This was a rather unexpected surprise but definitely a pleasant one. It was a Wednesday and I remember having a very tranquil day. In fact, I had spent the whole day unwinding as per my whim more than the usual holidays.

I woke up an hour later than I usually do on weekdays and spent the morning riding my motorcycle to a faraway cafe for a morning ride coupled with a breakfast. Later in the afternoon, I lazed around the house reading a book. I had ordered food from a nearby restaurant as I did not want to cook. In the evening, I went to meet a friend and we had a long conversation with delicious food and cold drinks. I then returned to my house at around ten in the night and drifted off into a deep and comfortable sleep.

Overall, it was a relaxing day because it came as a reward after a lot of hard work. Naturally, I was feeling good about it and wish for more such days to keep coming up on my calendar.

I am very particular about buying things. I prefer to purchase those items only which I require the most. I can recall one incident here when I bought something out of excitement but later couldn’t use it a lot.

It was my brother’s wedding two years ago. It was the last wedding of my generation. We had all the necessary arrangements done. We had a photographer to capture the moments of the main rituals, however for rest of the events, I decided to shoot myself. Although I am not a professional photographer, I like photography. I spent a huge amount in buying a new DSLR Nikon camera. I used that camera during his pre-wedding ceremonies only and after that I didn’t use it a lot. No such events took place after that where I could show my photography skills. Another reason is that my busy working hours don’t allow me to go for holidays as well where I can capture some moments. I am working in a company where my 24×7 attention is needed. That is why I don’t get enough time to pursue my hobby of photography. I still keep that camera but did not use it a lot.

It’s a pity that I am unable to use it frequently and certainly there is no use of keeping it for a long time. I am planning to gift it to my niece who is also very fond of photography. She wants to pursue a course related to photography after her 12th exam. This camera will be very useful for her. I wish she may continue using it.
