Sample Answer:

It’s a common gesture of appreciation that one receives for doing something good and worthy. We get appreciation for the good things we do for others or for our great achievements or personal excellence. One similar occasion when I was congratulated was when my debate team won the district/county-level championship.
It was 2012, and I was in my 10th grade. I was an influential member of my school debate team and had participated in a lot of different solo and team debate competitions. The yearly inter-school division/county-level championship was considered to be the most amazing and prestigious tournament, and in those days the finals were broadcast on local TV channels as well as on the radio and on the internet.
Our school had a very bad past history, as it was not able to win the championship before 2012. They had their last victory in the 90s, and everyone was waiting to hear the winning bells again. Though some of the debate teams participated till the semi-finals of the championship, they never made it to the finale.
That year I was heading the debate team, and to everyone’s great astonishment, we won the finals. Most of the people of our city watched the finals on TV and were super excited, happy and proud to see me on air, and it was an added attraction that we won.
The school arranged an assembly specifically to congratulate us for our achievement, and I found more than five hundred students, their guardians and local people who were eagerly waiting for us and were present there to join us in this victory. I was so proud of the whole team and excited about the occasion, and when all those people started congratulating me, I felt like I was flying above the sky, and my happiness knew no leaps and bounds.
Later I received many congratulations and appreciations as I grew up in my life, but none of them mattered as much as that one occasion did. We walked through the gushing crowd towards the stage of the auditorium, and people stood up, greeted us and clapped their hands. A lot of teachers, local political leaders, upper-level government employees and renowned personalities were also present there. The ceremony went on for almost 3 hours, and we got many gifts and bouquets as well. I’ll always remember that moment.

Ans: In India, generally movie stars, politicians and business tycoons are the most popular and successful people. Influential people who make social and environmental changes are also considered successful.

Ans: Success has different meanings to different people. People in the past considered success to be more about respect and dignity and paid more focus on the idea of getting known. The idea of popularity still remains the same, but today people evaluate success in terms of money and material possessions acquired.

Q3. Why are some celebrities and movie stars more successful than others?
Ans: Some celebrities are famous because the generation today is biased, and they prefer knowing or watching only those certain celebrities who are more popular, and they don’t really prefer quality. They just go with the brand name, and they prefer to stick with the passive crowd and go along with the fan following.

I’ve been working for a long time. I started my career ten years ago, in the year 2008. I was pursuing my post-graduation diploma in travel and tourism. Many companies used to visit our institute to hire freshers. I had been lucky enough to get my first job opportunity during campus placement. I got selected by one of the reputed companies in the travel industry, Abercrombie and Kent Destination Management. They run many offices across the globe, and their head office is in New York. Anyone from the travel industry, somewhere deep in their heart, keeps a feeling to work with this reputed organisation. It is a USA-based inbound travel company that provides all travel facilities to its clients. I got an opportunity to work with them in their Delhi office, located near Delhi Haat.

Although I was working there as a trainee, my work always got recognised and appreciated by higher authorities. I was responsible for all the travel arrangements for their foreign delegates who used to come to attend seminars and conferences from different parts of the world. This job gave me a chance to meet people from different cultural backgrounds. That not only boosted my confidence in public speaking but also got me acquainted with many different languages.

No other job could have given me such an exposure at the beginning of my career. It was the milestone of my career that helped me to choose the right path. I thoroughly enjoyed my work.

Over a period of time, I have realised that if you love doing something, it always brings new opportunities and excitement in life. Today, I am going to talk about a thrilling day I got to spend because of my job. It was a few years back, and I was working for a writing company back then. My job was to create new blogs for their website, and it was mostly working from home. However, I used to often go to the office to meet the staff and my senior for input on the website.

One day, my senior asked me to write a script for the product the company will be releasing in the upcoming quarter. It sounded so exciting to me that once I had written the script, I thought the work was done. Until one day I was told that I would be the assistant director for the shoot. The day of the shoot came on a fly. On the day of the shoot, I got to meet the best photographer of our town and then a really good actress. The entire day went by in cuts and retakes, and it was really exciting.

The mere fact that I was on the sets of a shoot gave me goosebumps. The takes and retakes made me feel as if I were a director. I remember coming back home late and my mother scolding me, but it was the best day I had lived in some while, and nothing else mattered.

Creative people are those who do things differently. Not necessarily; they do different things, but they even do the same things differently. These are often described as the people who built things and changed the ways. This time we are discussing a cue card on the creative person who met in your life.

Describe a creative person you admire :

There have been many people I have met over the course of years, but I remember one particular person I was amazed at. It was during our college days, and he was our classmate, Avinash Singh Rathore. I remember him as one of the guys who would make amazing cartoons and had great writing skills.

We were partners in crime because of our consecutive roll numbers. So, we would sit at the last seat and then would write about the events happening in the class. We would make fictional characters and then write stories together. He would be the one who would make amazing cartoons, and I would write down the conversation. By the end of the day, we would post it on Facebook and have a great laugh!

The reason I really admired him was because he was very calm and yet so smart. His opinion on the world was so different from others’, and I loved it.

The one person that comes to my mind when I hear “creative” is my father. Since my childhood, I have seen him fixing things that everyone rejects. Making new things from what is left over. According to him, nothing is ever wasted. Its utility to achieve one thing is over now, and now it can be used for something else.

Once a bed broke in our house, and when everyone else was thinking of where it should be thrown, my father made a beautiful desk out of the bed. I think creativity is not just about drawing things out or writing something beautiful. It is about leading a life in ways that are different from others. And on that, my father has surely led a beautiful life.

The reason I really admire him is because when everyone is busy in the hustle and bustle of life, he is the one person who has remained calm and yet achieved things that left people awestruck.
