Friends and family are highly important relationships that stand by you in your time of need. Man is a social entity, and always forms ‘give and take relations, where they take help and help those in need every time. I have a lot of good friends and caring, supportive family members as well. We all stand by each other’s side during tough times. One such incident is worth mention, and it is about my cousin brother. It happened when I had just cleared my degree and joined my first job. I liked my job very much even though it was a very hectic one.

I had a load of assignments I needed to complete, which often required me to work after hours from my home. This posed an issue as I did not own a computer then. One day, I was on an outing with my cousin, who was very fond of me and adored me. Being the elder brother, he taught me a lot through real-life examples of life and its problems with the utmost compassion. I told him of this issue during our discussion, in hopes that he would help me out with his advice there as well. To my surprise, he took me to his place and gave me his personal laptop computer. He basically lent it to me and told me to return it back only after I had purchased one of my own.

I was humbled and thankful to him for this huge help, as well as worrying about hampering his work. He assured me that he had an official laptop as well, and it was sufficient for his work. I thanked him a lot and used the laptop for the next three months. After saving from my salary, I purchased a new laptop for my own use and returned my cousin his laptop. I still keep that incident as a cherished memory and thank him for his graciousness.

SAMPLE ANSWER-

Television and other forms of entertainment have a strong effect in developing the values and influencing the behavior of children. Sadly, the majority of today’s television programs show inappropriate violent content. If watched under adult supervision, this negative impact can also be prevented. I partially concur that violent television programs has a negative effect on a minor’s behavior.

Violence is an everyday occurrence in our society and the way media presents it in every way has a negative impact. Watching frequent violence desensitizes children making them immune to the fear of disturbing activities taking place in the society. Furthermore, youngsters find it difficult to differentiate between the real world and the harsh incidences around. This sometimes attempt to imitate activities broadcasted on the television.

On the contrary, the media and television are considered to be the mirror of the society we live in. Therefore, violent content makes children more conscious and aware of the darker side of society. In this way, children at a young age can think of methods and practices to improve their future. In fact, violence is shown in a more entertaining way so that people can enjoy as well as get a moral which the show is trying to deliver.

To wind up, some people believe that children who are exposed to violent content play more aggressively and have a different type of behavior. But with parental surveillance, the time spent watching TV can be moderated by spending it on more beneficial activities like reading or developing other hobbies.

Sample Answer

Dear Steffi,
I was glad to see your letter after a long time. I am sorry I couldn’t reply earlier as I went to Japan to spend holidays with my aunt. We returned last week. I am happy to know that you consider me a person whose advice can help you to adjust in a new environment.

I believe, in order to feel comfortable at a new place, you should start exploring all interesting places nearby. Be humble to the people you encounter with. Try to initiate dialogue with them, instead of waiting for them to be friendly. Then, share your contact number so that you can invite them to spend some quality time together. You can also join some clubs or hobby classes, where you can find people having the similar interests like you. In school, try to participate in some group activities for understanding your classmates. While doing such activities, you can also share your thoughts with them.

I hope you get some help from this letter to deal with the situation. I really miss the wonderful time we spent together in school. Keep writing so that we can carry forward this special bond of friendship for lifetime. (198 words)
Best Wishes,
Maria

A prerequisite condition to start a relationship is to first initiate a dialogue. A healthy communication involves both listening and speaking. Some people are reserved and talk less ,whereas others are big mouthed. In order to maintain a healthy mind, we must share our thoughts and feeling with others. It also improves your bond with others, and encourages them to listen to you.

As a teenager, I was very shy and unable to express myself. Suddenly, I met the most talkative person of my life who completely changed me. She was my colleague and became my best friend in no time. I had heard that opposite attracts but I started believing in this after meeting her. We are still best friends.

Though, she looks very arrogant and pretentious, but actually she is outspoken and helpful. My friend is always ready to start a conversation with anyone about anything. She believes that whatever she knows is important and must be shared with others. We never have any  misunderstanding between us because she tries her best to explain every small detail. She finds talking is the best medicine to beat stress and anxiety. Due to her habit of talking, she is notable to many and has a large group of friends. Being with her, I have learnt the importance of talking to feel happy and confident.

To conclude, since, we know excess of everything is bad .Therefore, over communication sometimes makes a person deviate from the main topic of discussion. People ignore loquacious people as they do not listen and only talk. I believe, we must not impose our thoughts on others but should also listen to others.
