IELTS Letter Sample Answer # Noisy Dog

You should spend 20 minutes on this task.`
Your neighbors have a noisy dog and creates a lot fuss during night. As a result you are not able to sleep. Write a letter to your neighbor. In your letter :
– describe the problem with the dog.
– explain why is it important for you to sleep.
– suggest what your neighbor can do for it.

SAMPLE ANSWER
Dear Mr and Mrs. Joshi,
I am writing this letter to bring to your notice the problems I am facing because of your dog.
 
You must be already aware of the breed of your dog and the its characteristics. Being a wild dog, it is very obvious that it is going to growl and make loud noises. Recently, the dog has also started making small detours at night around the neighborhood and digging holes in the gardens.
 
The issue is that I am quite weak at sleep and often get up by the noises. This has led to improper sleep and work issues in my office. I had even consulted a doctor and started taking sleeping pills but then they are having side effects on my body and I cannot continue with it. In addition, I have my GMAT exam next month. Not getting proper sleep is taking toil on me and can create problems in the exam.
 
I will be grateful if you could keep your dog away for some time, either in a friend or family house or in the dog care center at least till my exam is over, which is one month from now.

I am sorry to hear that you met with an accident and got your leg fractured, specially when we had our match the next week. You have told me how important the match was for you and I can understand what you might be going through.
 
Rakesh told me you are admitted in Combined Medical Institute. Although, the past record of this hospital is not that great, I have heard that they have improved a lot since past few years. So,how are the doctors? Are they providing you proper facilities and how is the food?
 
Well, there is also a great news for you. Remember,the scholarship you applied for last year?? You have been selected for it and now your studies will be taken care by the authorities. So, it is not all gloom!
 
Do let me know if you need any help. I will visit you at the hospital next week. Till then, bye.

IELTS Essay Sample Answer # Globalization

Even though globalization affects the world economies, its down side must not be neglected.

Discuss.

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

The world has become a global village and the word globalization a common term of the 21st century. Globalization means that the world has become integrated economically, socially, politically and culturally through the advances of technology, transportation and communication. As a result, the economies of many countries have got a boom and opportunities have risen up. Although, globalization has offered great advantages, the negative impact cannot be overshadowed.

The major disadvantage of globalization is the impact it had on local markets. With the coming of international products, although the consumer is happier, but the local business men have suffered a lot. In some worst case scenarios, either the person had to close the business or work at lower prices.

The second issue has arrived in the more developed countries. With globalization, the companies in the European or American countries, tend to outsource cheaper work force from Asian countries, leading to high rates of unemployment in these countries. On the other side, the Asian people tend to work for such multi national companies because of the higher salaries as compared to the home companies. This has created a situation of brain drain.

Overall, globalization has surely opened up doors for many providing better jobs and improved economic standards,however the loops are inevitable. In my opinion, the governments and companies must take a more balanced approach in dealing with the issues raised because of globalization, to ensure a equivocal environment to live in.
