Write a letter to the company. In your letter –

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the delivery services of your company. The reason of this belief is the issues faced by me with the last order that I made.

20 days back, I ordered a phone on your online site, during the mega sale of electronics. It was a HTC 626 g+ desire worth Rs. 130000 and the transaction was completed successfully using debit card. Three days ago, the order arrived and when I opened it, there was no phone in it. It had a box with charger, head phones and other documents. To add insult to my injury, when I asked the courier boy to take the order back, he said, it was not his responsibility and I need to contact you.

Ten days later, I need to go to Australia for an assignment and require the phone immediately. The ideal solution would be that you replace the order and send me the same phone as soon as possible. If that is not possible, inform me of your inability to deliver the phone before 10 days.

Accommodation Issues # Letter For IELTS

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You are studying a short course in another country. Your accommodation was arranged by the course provider. There is a major problem with the accommodation.
Write a letter to the course provider. In your letter:

  • Say what the problem is.
  • Describe the accommodation you thought you were getting.
  • Ask the provider to solve the problem.

Write at least 150 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear course provider,

I am Alice Degeneres studying a eight week intensive course at Oxford University. My tuition fee is covered by me, however, the accomodation was provided by  your company. It is expected that I pass my final exams with a great score and get an on-campus placement. With the work pressure increasing, it is very important for me to be able to study in a pleasant environment.

I am staying at Everton Hostel. The course is fantastic, however I am finding issues with accommodation. When the accommodation was provided I was assured that I will be provided a single room, however with time, three different students have settled in my room, claiming the accommodation was provided by you. Even more they tend to party in the house and bring in friends, which becomes really difficult for me to study. I am in final year, and require a single room that could help me to focus on my studies properly.

I wonder if I am moved to a hostel which is more conducive to serious study, or I may use the remainder of my accommodation to go towards payment for a hostel.

Missing Card # Letter For IELTS

You should spend 20 minutes.

You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope.
Write a letter to the bank’s head office. In your letter:
-explain why you are writing
-express concern about the missing card
-ask them what they intend to do

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing in regard to the missing receipt of the new bank card that I had applied for.

Two weeks ago I had asked for a new bank card because of some issues in my old bank card. It was told to me that the new card will arrive after seven days. I did got the envelope claiming that I need to acknowledge the receipt in it but to my disappointment I have not received any receipt. The envelope had a letter from your bank describing about how to use the card and what are the advantages of it.

I am concerned because it might also be possible that the card was lost while it was being sent or there are some problems with the bank. Either ways, my old card has stopped working entirely and I am in an urgent need of the new card to make transactions related to my business.

I would like you to look into the matter and issue me the card as soon as possible.

Complaint Against Services # Letter For IELTS

You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
-give details of what went wrong
-explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
-say what action you would like the manager to take

You should write at least 150 words.


SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,
The reason I am writing to you is the poor quality of services provided to me during my last visit at your hotel. The services provided were excellent for the first few hours after I checked in but the issues started popping up when I started staying.
The first issue that I noticed was that the heating system of the hotel was not working. While making my bookings I was assured that I need not bring along any blankets as there is a heating system and I will not face any issues. However, when I inquired to the staff about it they plainly told me that it is not working and I must make my own arrangements regarding it. When I tried to contact you by phone, no one would give me any sensible answer.

The next major issue was of water. You can imagine how frustrated and puzzled I was when I was informed that there is no hot water available and I need to take a bath with cold water only. I was thankful that there were geysers available in public bathrooms or else I had to suffer. Adding insult to my injury, they even asked me to leave a day before my planned check out day.

I am very disapointed with the service I have received. Therefore I expect refund as soon as possible.
