Life is full of competitions and challenges. At each step in our life, we face a new kind of contests, which teach us a lot. I have taken part in a lot of them as well. I have performed well in some of them while being average in others. Competitions such as debates, painting meets, athletic championships have surely piqued my interest since childhood, but writing competitions are something I am very fond of, and always ready to participate in.
One such writing event also takes place during a bi-annual literature festival held in our city. It is a very grand affair, with people from all over the city and nearby towns in attendance. Many established writers also take part in it, making it harder. I want to partake in this competition as it will be a tough challenge, and a rewarding experience in terms of learning as well as the prize.
The event is judged by a panel consisting of esteemed novel and fiction writers from all over the country. It is about writing a story based on a topic that is of a certain social importance, such as any current issue or propaganda. The factors that are judged include vocabulary, grammar, flow, direction, and how well the story can move or touch human emotions.
I really believe that I can pen down such a piece of fiction that could touch the hearts of the reader and form an emotional connection with them as well. Since writing is my passion, I really want to join this contest and reach new levels of understanding with such an affair.
