One good news that brought me immense happiness was when my best friend announced about her second marriage. It was a moment we had been eagerly awaiting, and the news filled our hearts with joy and excitement for the new chapter in her life. My best friend Shreya got married at an early age of 23. Little did she know that this marriage would turn into a nightmare. She was into an abusive marriage and she struggled hard for about 2 years to make it work but it was getting worse day by day. A day arrived when she finally decided to leave that abusive marriage.

Years passed but none of us could convince her for a second marriage. As she was too scared to get into a relationship after all that she went through. Recently, she announced about her engagement with a decent guy. Who loved her a lot and she was able to move out of her past after struggling for years.

Hearing about my best friend’s engagement was a truly heartwarming experience. I felt overjoyed for her and her partner as they embarked on this new journey together. It was a joyous moment for us. And I was extremely happy for my friend.

In this era, there are a plethora of websites that we use nowadays. These websites are advantageous for us. Today I would like to talk about a website that I often use.
The website that I frequently visit is Diksha.com . It was introduced to me by my colleague during covid time. It provides a wide variety of educational courses for teachers. At the time of COVID 19, it was important for the teachers to keep themselves updated and to conduct online workshops for students. This website was programmed by the government of India and it consisted of numerous online courses .

The best part was that after the completion of the course you even get a certificate which was government approved. I did many courses from that website and it proved to be beneficial. It even had a course on AI which was the need of the hour. Courses such as human well being, environmental safety, child well being proved to be exquisite. I use it a lot. There’s always some new content to look at. And this website has been extremely helpful to me in gaining knowledge and always learning something new.

IELTS Cue Card 2024: DESCRIBE A SKILL YOU ARE GOOD AT.

Describe A Skill You Are Good At

You should say:

  • Where did you learn it from?
  • How do you benefit from it?
  • Are you getting better at it?
  • Have you taught it to someone?

Sample Answer

People develop special abilities to do something with enough practice. I have the capability to do many things, but something I am very good at is driving. As a child, I used to enjoy rides with my father, and I was always curious about how he did it. I wanted to learn to drive from my father, but he always told me to wait till I was old enough. The minimum driving age for a two-wheeler in my country is sixteen, but I couldn’t wait long enough. Once, my friend, who was allowed by his parents to drive, gave me a chance to get my hands on the steering wheel.

I was a bit nervous initially, but once the car started to move, I was thrilled. My father did help me get better at it and also helped me get a driving license. There are a lot of advantages to knowing how to drive. I save a lot of time when I take my own convenience to any place. Once, I drove my neighbor’s car when they needed to get to the hospital urgently.

I would say I am getting better at it because now I can drive for longer hours with fewer stops in between. Driving on steep turns on mountainous routes is not that complicated for me now. I also assist my father on long journeys during a family trip.
I did teach driving to my younger brother. It takes a lot of patience to teach something to a complete beginner. I am hopeful that he will be of help to others, and I also keep giving and taking driving-related tips.
