SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I recently shifted from Bhubaneswar to Dehradun and took services from ABC travel Corp, for moving my goods to Dehradun. The transportation began on 20/July from House no 122, Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar and my goods were delivered at 35 Dutta Enclave, Dehradun on time.

However, on unpacking, I found there were few items that were damaged. Apart from some small scratches in many of them, my desk has been broken and is of no longer use. It had a base of the glass and the glass is in two pieces. In addition, the washing machine has a big dent which has caused some internal issues. As a result of this, the washing machine has stopped working.

Your services had a reputation in Bhubaneswar and therefore I took them. I would request you to either reimburse me the payment for the broken items or replace them.

IELTS Letter Sample Questions # Building

You should spend 20 minutes on this task.

There is a historical building in your town and the city council wants to pull it down because there is no money for repairs. You are not happy with this decision. Write a letter to the city council and say :

  • why is the building important?
  • suggest a solution to finance the repairs.

You should write at least 150 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been living in Bhubaneswar for the past four years and have become accustomed to the different places it has to offer. Recently, it came to my knowledge that the city council is planning to shut down the house of Raja Vasudevan. Raja Vasudevan was one of the pioneers who helped in the making of the history of Bhubaneswar.

I have visited the place often and agree that the building requires repairs urgently. However, shutting down the building will have more negative impact than positive. There are many people who look up to the place and it can even act as a tourist spot. If the city council collects Rs.10 from the entire city, we are more likely to have around 10 lakh from the city and the rest can be afforded by the council.

Once the repairs are done, the building can be used as the tourist spot and be a profitable site. Although it sounds a distant plan, this will surely help is restoring the building and in turn the history of Bhubaneswar.
