IELTS Speaking Sample Questions # Humour On TV

Humour has been and still remains the most important part of our lives. What kind of life is lived without any humour in it. This time however, we are moving around questions that are related to humour on tv. These questions can be asked in the IELTS speaking section.

What type of programmes do you find funny on Television?

I am a true blue romantic when it comes to television. So, when others find jokes on particular things funny, I love it when two people in love fight. I find it really funny. The sweet love fights, I simply enjoy them. I remember, watching television serials like Kitanni Mohobbat Hai, Dill Mill Gaye, the kind of serials that were more like romcom. Apart from this, I love sarcastic comedy. The one in which the literal word said has nothing much to do but the meaning behind is amazing.

What types of programmes are most popular in your country?

Most of the people in my country have seen a shift from television to You tube and that is for sure. People now are much more interested in seeing the new web series by AIB or TVF than probably a new television series. But, for those who do watch television, there are different tastes. So, the young loves watching cricket or any other sport for that matter. Or some reality shows. People who have grown up a little bit, I think prefer drama. But, it happens vice versa as well. But, anything that makes them laugh or cry goes down well with my country men.

Do you like to make people laugh?

Yes, I do love to make people laugh. I think it is one of the most beautiful art to be able to make others laugh. For me, it is not always a planned thought process. May be my blatancy makes people laugh. Sometimes my responses to their problems make them laugh. But is is always good that even if you are not able to solve someone’s problem at least an attempt to make them feel lighter about it.

Do you think it is important for anyone to have a sense of humour?

I think definitely yes. Having a sense of humour, towards everything in life ,including yourself helps take things and life in a very beautiful perspective. It is only a person with a certain sense of humour who can deal with life in a more beautiful manner. Also, I believe, not only it helps in dealing with life it does makes life so much more better to live in than it actually is.

Do you think insult comedy is the right way of making others laugh?

Too an extent it is right. Sometimes people do take insult way too seriously than it should have been and people do insult in manners that really hurt. But, when it comes to small and not so serious insults, I think there is not much issue with it and there should neither be. However, with things getting serious and when people pin point on the same things or make only insultive comedy, I think that is when the problem begins.

IELTS Speaking Sample Questions # Mathematics

Mathematics has been one of the most dreaded subject of all times. There surely have been some people who loved math but then there have been many who have been scared of math more than anything in their lives. This time we are looking at some of the questions that can be asked in the IELTS speaking section.

When did you start learning math?

Math was a compulsory subject in our school and  I have been learning it since the day I joined school. However, it was only during my boards exam that I really fell in love with math.

Do you like math?

I would say, yes I do but then it is surely not the only thing that is in my favorite list. If there is anything I love more than math than it has to be English. So, yes I do love math and its problems but for me, English takes priority between the two.

Who taught you math?

There have been many school teachers all through my life who tried teaching me math but I think the one person who really taught me how to learn and do math was my father. He taught me well in the earlier days of my childhood how to study and solve math problems efficiently.

Who has been your favourite math teacher so far?

Among all the math teachers that I ever had, I think the one whom I can consider as my favourite would be Mrs. Monica. She was my teacher during the graduation days and the way she taught math was amazing. Not only did she made the topic clear but also made sure that we did understand everything well. I still remember going to her for doubts and with that one single doubt she cleared so many others.

Is math difficult for you to learn?

I believe just like so many other amazing things in life, it takes lot of patience to learn math. Not only patience, one must have a keen desire to learn it. Because, initially math does poses people with problems that are hard to solve. There are some problems that may force you to leave the subject, but then once the difficult phase has gone by, I do believe that math can truly guide a person in his or her life.

Do you like to use calculator?

I do use calculator and also prefer using it when there are difficult calculations to be made and it will consume lot of time there. But, for simpler arithmetic problems, calculator is something I don’t require. Definitely, however, I feel that it is great to have a calculator by your side to help you solve the difficult calculations.

IELTS Speaking Sample Questions # TV

TV has been one of the most famous form of entertainment since its inception. People have been crazy about it since times when there was nothing much being displayed on the television screen and now with so many satellites up there, television has offered people with options they never thought of. This time we are looking at some sample questions that can be asked in IELTS speaking section.

How much television do you usually watch?

We have moved into a new city and the only preference that I had was no television in my house. Five years from now, I loved television and watched it very often. May be around 4 hours a day. However, with time I have realised that there is much more to life than just watching television. So, now I rarely watch television, only when there is a world cup series going on.

I seldom watch TV. The only times that I do open the  television is when there is a cricket match or when I am at someone’s else house and they are watching something.

What’s your favourite TV program?

I love watching Discovery Channel and the History Channel but there is no particular TV program that I stick to. Whenever I do get time, I open any of these channels to enjoy whatever is going on.

Did you watch much TV when you were a child?

Oh! Yes. I was a couch potato when I was younger. We used to have fights for remote to watch the program that I wanted. I was obsessed with lot of TV programs and after watching them would go and discuss with my friends about them. Programs like Splitsvilla, roadies, Dill Mill Gayee. I remember being mad about the male protoganist of Dill Mill Gaye.

What type of programs did you watched as a child?

I remember not having a television till I was in Class 6. It was only when I passed on to Class 7 that we did had a television at home. So, as a child it was after  12 or 13 years. But, during that period I loved watching both cartoons and drama serials. So, I would watch Beyblade, Pokemhon, Dragon Ball Z and then at the same time I even watched Dill Mill Gaye, which was a Drama.

Do you think television has changed in the past few decades?

I think there is not much change that has happened in television industry since the past few decades. Obviously, yes the television has become grander when compared to before but then fundamentally it has remained same. There still are drama shows, reality shows and news. Just like earlier, there are certain shows with great social message while there are so many that are just there for pure fun.

Has television changed your life in any ways?

I don’t think it has changed my life completely but it surely has impacted my life in so many ways. It was watching shows like Dill Mill Gayye in my early childhood that have made me a true blue romantic. Then shows like Splistvilla have taught me that at the end of the day, life is a game and there is nothing like winning or losing in the end. It is only about how well you played the game and the only person who wins the fight is the one who plays it well.

Do you think television has changed since your childhood?

I do surely miss the amazing cartoons that came when I was a child. If in terms of change, the fundamental business has remained the same however I think the quality and the way of portraying the same things has changed. There is much more drama in the television than before and it has surely become as grand as the big screen.

IELTS Speaking Sample Questions # Friends

Friends are people who make your life more beautiful than it is. They are the ones that you make memories with, the ones who cry with you, the ones who make you happy and the ones with whom you make memories with. This time we are looking at some of the questions related to friends that can be asked in the IELTS speaking part I.

How often do you like to hang out with your friends?

I love enjoying with my friends but because of the tight schedule that we all have, it has become quite tough these days to hang out on regular basis. But, we make sure that during weekends we do spend sometime together. So, we play badminton together and then during evenings we either eat at each other place or go out for walks and eat at road side.

Who do you usually like to spend time with?

I have two really nice friends in the current city that I am living. Although, there are many other friends that I have made but it is usually them that I love spending time with. We three like spending time together, not only because we know each other well but it is amazing to tease each other. The best part of our friendship is that we can have the silliest of the conversation and then a serious conversation together.

Do you like to hang out with a big group of friends or just a few friends?

I think it all depends on the place we are going to hang out. So, if it is just the long walks and some sort of fast food eating, I usually prefer my two close friends. But, for places like museums or for that matter water parks it is always fun to go out with a big group of friends. There are so much more memories that one makes with a huge group of friends.

What kind of person is more likely to be a friend of you?

There are no certain qualities with which I decide whether the next person is my friend or not. But, yes the one thing that surely decides if the person will become my friend or not, is his or her attitude. For me, a person who is very judgemental is less likely to be my friend. I like people who love the other person in spite of the flaws of the other individual.

Have you ever had a friend who is no longer your friend?

Well, there have been many friends that I have made in this journey of life, and there have been many I am not in touch with. But, I do remember a friend of mine, I made in my graduation days. Something just went wrong between us. We stopped talking with each other, I think the main reason was the fact that we never told each other things we didn’t like about the other person. Accumulation of all these things just ended our friendship long before we could become really nice friends.

How important are friends for you?

Friends play a very important role in my life. For some reasons, I have learnt more from people around me than from things or those motivational videos. Friends that I have made have shaped the individual that I have become. For example, a friend taught me the importance of love in our lives and then there was another who taught me how to give yourself the time it needs. Friends are the people I have had memories and I wonder what I would have been were there no friends of mine.

Do you believe that some friendships can be more harmful than good?

Friendship is a relation and I think just like any other relation, it surely can be harmful. But, that happens only when the other person starts giving more importance to someone else. Kinship just like any other relation can turn out to be problematic only when a person allows the other person to take decisions for you.

Is there a friend you wish to remove from your life?

Certainly not, at present moment, there is no person I would like to remove from my life. However, there have been times when I have removed friends from my life but that has happened only when I have realised that the bond that we share is fake and we simply try to push a relationship that does not serves it purpose any more.
