Work is the most important part of our lives. However, in days and moments when either we feel really emaciated or need to go somewhere, vacations are our last escape. Well, whether vacations come unasked for or we really hope for them to happen, they make the lives worth living. This time, we are looking at a cue card that talks about vacation.

Describe a place you have recently visited.

You should say:

  • where you went?
  • who you went with?
  • how you got there?

also, explain how you enjoyed there?

SAMPLE ANSWER

Travelling is one hobby that helps us to broaden our horizons and give us so many stories to share. It has for me been the best thing to do and I try to do it as often as possible. Recently, I visited Vishakapatnam with my teammates. Vishakapatnam or Vizag as it is often called is a city in Andhra Pradesh and is known for its amazing beaches.

We decided to go for the yearly outing after the MNC for which we work gave us the bonus. Being a team of 20 people, it was really fun going to Vizag. At around 10 we boarded a train and reached Vizag in the morning at 5. At that time, the breeze was perfect and the sun was just coming up. Across both the sides of the road, we could see the beach which made us so very excited about the place.

It was a two-day travel and on the first day, we went to Rishi Konda beach and also got to see the INS Kursura. INS Kursura is the fifth submarine of Indian Navy and we got to get inside it. Personnel there told us about the wars in which it was used and ignited in us the feeling of pride for our country.

Next day, we hopped on different beaches and relaxed later on. Towards the end of the day, we already had been to Yarda beach, lighthouse and seen some of the best things our country offers. We had made bonds over the laughs and fights, moments we all will cherish all our lives.

IELTS Speaking Part I Sample about Advertisement

IELTS Speaking Part 1: Questions and answers about Advertisement
Question 1: Are there many advertisements in your country?
Answer: Indeed, there are a lot of advertisements. Apart from television commercials and print adverts, outdoor advertising is also very popular in my country.

Question 2: Why do you think there are so many advertisements now?
Answer: In my view, there are two main reasons why we see so many ads around us. Firstly, advertising has become a powerful tool to promote any product and to reach a wide range of audience. Secondly, manufacturers spend a substantial amount of their annual budget on ads.

Question 3: What are the various places where we see advertisement?
Answer: In today’s media dominated world, advertisements can be seen everywhere – television, newspapers, magazines and roads. From hoardings and pamphlets to stickers and banners, there are numerous forms of advertising that cover almost every place around us.

Question 4: How do you feel about advertisements?
Answer: I feel that advertisements have become an essential part of our environment. However, too many commercials on TV and radio often irritate me, especially when I’m watching or listening to my favorite programs. Excessive adverts in the newspaper also reduce my interest in reading.

Sample Answer

Dear Megha,

I got the wonderful news of your baby girl’s birth. So, our lovely princess is finally with us. I saw her pictures on Instagram. She is really adorable.

I extend my heartiest congratulations to you, your husband and the entire family. I’m sure that her arrival will bring a lot of happiness and fortune in the family. I just can’t wait to see her. I have already bought a gift for her. I checked out several items and then finally selected a carrycot as I found it quite useful for the little one. You can carry the baby in it while going out or even at home to soothe her with the toys hanging in the cot.

Finally, I’m planning to visit you next Friday, the 5th of October, at around 4 pm. So, please let me know if it is convenient to you. In case, you have any other plan for Friday, I can come later as well.

Yours lovingly,
Sakshi
