Sample Answer

Dear Steffi,
I was glad to see your letter after a long time. I am sorry I couldn’t reply earlier as I went to Japan to spend holidays with my aunt. We returned last week. I am happy to know that you consider me a person whose advice can help you to adjust in a new environment.

I believe, in order to feel comfortable at a new place, you should start exploring all interesting places nearby. Be humble to the people you encounter with. Try to initiate dialogue with them, instead of waiting for them to be friendly. Then, share your contact number so that you can invite them to spend some quality time together. You can also join some clubs or hobby classes, where you can find people having the similar interests like you. In school, try to participate in some group activities for understanding your classmates. While doing such activities, you can also share your thoughts with them.

I hope you get some help from this letter to deal with the situation. I really miss the wonderful time we spent together in school. Keep writing so that we can carry forward this special bond of friendship for lifetime. (198 words)
Best Wishes,
Maria

Dear Sir/Madam,

IELTS GT Letter: Problems with the Apartment, IELTS BAND7 DEHRADUN

Sample Answer

Dear Sir,
I am writing to bring to your notice the problems we are facing in our newly rented apartment. I am Anna White. My family moved to your flat number 131, Pacific Avenue, last month.

Overall, we are pleased with the facilities provided. But, for the last few days, the water supply has become very irregular. Water comes only in the evening from 6 pm to 7 pm. Apart from this, the water heater is not functioning. It is making a lot of noise and only cold water comes from the faucet.

As you know that my wife and I work in overseas firms. Our office timings are from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. So, no one is at home to store water in the evening. Scarcity of water and non-functioning heater, both problems are causing a lot of inconvenience for us.

I had a word with the utility manager of the apartment. He assured us to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, it has been more than a week since then and no action has been taken to solve the problem. After waiting for many days, I decided to inform you. Please look into this matter as soon as possible.
I look forward to receiving a prompt response.
Yours Sincerely
Anna White

Sample Answer

Dear Sir,

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for successfully completing two years as a publication house. You keep adding interesting columns in your newspaper. Readers like me appreciate your articles. I am writing in regard to the feature your newspaper is planning to introduce for which readers are welcomed to provide their suggestions.

You can consider ‘Mind, Body and Spirit’ as a subject of interest for readers. Due to the modern lifestyle, people are overloaded with responsibilities. In order to fulfill these responsibilities, they often overlook their health. As a result, they suffer from depression, anxiety and other health issues. In this column you can provide information about how a healthy mind is important for a healthy body. You can further discuss in detail about how to get the same with the help of spiritualism, yoga and regular exercise etc.

This topic is indeed of great importance because healthy people are happy people or vice-versa. Readers will definitely show their keen interest in this column and would love to learn new tips for leading a balanced life.

I hope you will take my suggestion into consideration.

IELTS Letter Sample Questions # Part Time Job

You should spend 20 minutes on this task.

Write a letter to a friend who is looking for a part time job. Describe a job you have found for him/her including :

  • what are the duties
  • why do you think it is a good job for him or her?
  • what does he or she have to do to get it?

Write at least 150 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Ankit,

I hope you are doing good with your life and enjoying your studies. Last time we met, you told me you are facing a financial crisis and are searching for a job. Recently, I came to know about a part time job as a writer for an online website.

As the chief writer for the website, you are expected to write articles on different spheres of the city. The central idea of the website is to make people aware of the city. It would involve writing articles about places to eat, areas to visit and the events happening in the city. I know you love travelling and exploring places and this job provides you what you love. Even more, you are expected to write only three articles a week, which is quite suitable.

The payment will be done on your article rather than the time. So, you get the flexibility to choose what to write and when. If you are interested, you need to drop a mail to writeforus@travellers.com and send in your entries. Post that there is an interview round. Wishing you all the best.

Love

Avantika
