Music is one of the most beautiful forms of art, and I listen to it whenever I am feeling the blues. Today, I am going to talk about a motivational song that I love listening to, whenever I am thrown by failures in life. The song’s name is believers, by the worldwide famous band Imagine Dragons.

The song really helps me get through the impossible days when it is really hard for me to get out of bed and kick off my day. It gives a very inspirational message about the failures of life and urges one to push one’s limits and go beyond them. It empowers me to rise like a phoenix from the ashes and keeps me going even at my worst. It put forth the never give up attitude in life even when everything appears to be the end of the world.

The song is quite popular across the globe and definitely forms a part of every individual’s playlist, especially the young blood. Like many other youngsters, I also listen to this song to work my way out through the hurtful days of life. Thanks to one of my close friends Niya, who suggested I listen to this song when I was going through some personal mid-life crisis. I was emotionally tormented by the loss of a family member and felt emotionally drained and mentally exhausted. At the time I also was not able to cope with the work and thus, my work-life balance was not very good as there was a lot on my plate. It was at that time, that I started listening to this song and overcame my demons. This song is meaningful in a lot of ways, as it is inspired by the band’s own personal struggles that they went through before actually gaining popularity in the mainstream.

Thus, this is a song that I found particularly interesting.

There is a myriad of music competitions that are widely popular as they are really enjoyed by people from across the remotest corners of the country. I think young people like listening to a lot of pop and hip-hop music followed by some rap music as well, which is slowly taking over the music industry. Young bloods these days want to listen to something they can relate to and not something that is superficial and fake. Thus, these are the kinds of songs that young people like listening to.

Q3. What kinds of people like to listen to traditional music?

Q4. Why do you think old people like old songs ?

I believe that old person like old songs because they do not relate to the songs that are presently in trend. Moreover, the old songs remind them of their era and their time when life was supposed to be very simple, unlike the modern competitive world. The old songs have slow beats and are full of life with a deep sense of meaning to it. They feel very connected to it. Therefore, old people like to listen to old songs.

Over the course of my life, I have come across several people and I really love to talk to new people. So, today I am going to talk about one such person, whom I found very motivational, and thus, wanted to know more about her.

Her name is Selena Gomez. She is a globally popular American singer, who is known for her great contribution to the field of music, and her kind nature. I did not know her until one of my really close friends, Riya took me to her concert, which was held in California on a lazy weekend night. At first, I did not want to go, as I was really tired of the week-long office work and wanted to take a good nap. But she insisted on me a lot and so, I finally went with her. She was really excited to meet her, as she booked the exclusive front-row tickets for the show. When I reached the stadium, I was absolutely startled by the huge never ending crowd, that was present there, just to get a glimpse of her. We somehow managed to make space for ourselves and grabbed our seats.

The concert was an hour long, and she ended it with a heart-touching motivational speech, which really brought me to tears, like everyone else. Her speech moved me so much, that I really wanted to meet her and so, I requested Riya to take me and she was making her way down the stage, we finally managed to meet her in the green room. Even though it was not a long meeting, I was really jubilant that I met her.

Since then, I started following her on all her social media accounts, be it Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or any other. I really enjoy listening to all her songs, because I can relate to every single lyric that she weaves in her song. Her music lifts me up on my lows and serves as a reminder of the good things that exist in this competitive world. I feel that she is really a genuine person, who has worked really hard to achieve her dreams and is an inspiration for many people, especially the young girls out there to become independent and make their own choices. I absolutely adore this woman, because she has helped a lot of needy lupus patients by getting them treated with the necessary medical aid.

Therefore, she is the person I met once and want to know more about if I get a chance.

Speaking -Part 3 (Follow up questions)
Here are some examples of follow up questions that examiner may ask during your speaking (part 3) related to cue card ‘Describe a person you only met once and want to know more about.

Q1. How do people make friends in India ?

There are a lot of social networking sites, where people can get familiar with each other and become friends such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Apart from that, people make friends on special events, like, family parties or weddings and many other occasions, where individuals gather to enjoy the function.

Q2. Is it important to have the same hobbies and interests when making friends?

Well, I do not think so, because every person has his/her own perception of life. So, it is quite impossible to find someone who shares similar interests and hobbies as us. Moreover, it would become very boring for us to enjoy ourselves if someone has common interests. Therefore, in my opinion, I do not think that it is important to have the same hobbies and interests when making friends.

Q3. What qualities make true friends ?

I firmly believe that a friend is the greatest blessing a person can have in his life, and a true friend always sticks to our side, whenever we are thrown by the great adversities of life. A true friend will always feel happy for us on our highs and motivate us to never give up on our lows. He will make sure that we always choose to walk on the right path, and abstains from doing wrong things in life. Thus, these are some of the qualities which make someone a true friend.

I believe it is a human tendency to love receiving freebies, as, who wants to spend money on things when one can get them for free. Today, I would like to talk about one such time, when I received earphones for free, along with a brand new phone that I purchased from the store. Actually, I really needed a new phone from a very long time, and so, I went to the nearest Samsung store to check out some updated android versions.

When I entered the store, the receptionist was very kind and warmly welcomed me. She asked me about my preferences and budget. Accordingly, she was showing me all the samples. At first, I was really enticed and perplexed at the same time, as I could not decide which one to buy. Finally, after giving it a lot of thought, I chose the one which cost me around fifteen thousand rupees , and to my surprise, the owner told me that I have received a pair of free earphones, which was white in color. He told me that it was a gesture of goodwill to enhance customer experience, so on every purchase of worth more than ten thousand rupees, they gift free earphones.

I was really happy to receive it, as I saved a big amount on it and I used that money to purchase a beautiful Pashmina shawl which I gifted my mother on her thirty-eighth birthday. Furthermore, they were noise cancellation earphones, therefore the sound quality was quite refined. I really enjoyed listening to soothing music on rainy days, sitting by the window side sipping hot tea from my favorite cup, with my earphones on.
Overall, this was a time when I received something for free.

Q1. Do you think people should pay for higher education ?
Well, I am a strong believer of the saying, nothing valuable comes for free in life. So, to answer your question I definitely feel that people should invest in their higher education.

Q2. Is it good or bad for people to have a free education in future ?
I believe it is very good for few deserving individuals who come from not so privileged family background to have access to free education in future, as everyone has a right to education, and so, I believe no one should fail to get basic education just because of financial issues. But on the flip side, there are some people, who take things for granted, and so, it is required that universities do charge some amount to impart education to these students, for they must realise the value of education.

Sportsmen, actors, famous businessmen, and politicians are quite famous in my country. Many of them have become global artists and have huge fan bases in other countries as well. Today, the commencement of social media has proven to be the most preferred medium to achieve fame. For many individuals, social media is considered a ladder that will lead them to success. All they have to do is to post something entertaining or unique if their content gained good views they are famous. Many people gained popularity overnight via social media.

Q3. What is the difference between people who were famous earlier and who are famous now ?
People who were famous earlier were more humble and hardworking than today. Many people did not have any connections in the industry they build their name on their own. They proved themselves worthy to be entitled as stars. Whereas, today majority of famous people are famous because of the hard work done by their forefathers. Another difference would be modesty and humility for others. Today’s generation is considered to be rude and selfish once they gain fame, they become completely ignorant about others and often forget their roots.

Q4. What qualities do famous people have in common ?
Well, everyone is different and is blessed with unique qualities. But the virtue, I find common in famous people is hard work. To shine like the Sun one has to burn like a Sun. Apart from it, they have excellent dress sense, as they have many proficient people who guide them to maintain their good looks.
