SAMPLE ANSWER

Art, for a long time, has been seen as the easier thing to do. For some reasons, it has dawn upon people that love for literature, imagination, creativity or understanding of philosophy is very easy. Drawing a painting or singing seems quite trivial task that can be done by anyone. This has led to paying low wages to artist as it is thought that they are easily replaceable. It is in recent times, that artists have demanded the government to fund them and their art. I believe that is fair on their part to do so.

In the era, when most attention is being taken by technology, if government funds arts, there will be several benefits. Firstly, it will give people a choice to do what they love. It has been observed in recent times that people often go for engineering or medicines as they are  high paying jobs. If security could be provided to artist more people would take it up as a career. Secondly, art does form an integral part of our lives. Funding by government would help increase awareness among people about the importance of arts. Even more, it will help artists to lead a happier life. Often artists lose their creativity in the struggle of protecting their art and living life. The support from government will surely be of great help.

Overall, I believe we do need engineers and scientist but artists surely make life better. Neglecting them could make our lives monotonous.. Therefore, steps must be taken on behalf of the government to ensure that the artists fell proud of their art and are able to make a living out of the work they love.

Should Art Be Neglected # Essay For IELTS

Few people are of the opinion that money spent on arts is just a waste and the government must focus on areas other than it, like engineering or science. List out what would be the results if government stopped paying attention to arts.

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Art is a subject o human and social skills. In the past it was considered as one of the most important subject for the all round development of an individual. However, with time and with coming of technology and science in recent times, art has taken a back seat. There are people of the belief that it is time that government stops spending money on arts and rather focus on projects under science and engineering.

Although it might sound economical to many, I believe there could be quite upheaval if arts gets neglected. Firstly, an individual might not be able to understand the importance of social skills. This could be quite problematic in a scenario when we are talking about multi-cultural interaction. Secondly, it becomes quite difficult to understand oneself and the complex nature of humans because there is an unawareness about the past. A better future can be made if we know the mistakes of the past. Thirdly, it could be quite disadvantageous for those who are interested in arts. It could give them a sense of rejection.

However, spending money on science and technology can help in making better technologies or doing new inventions. This could surely prove to be a boost for the economy. But, this will surely be at a very costly price. Even more, working more on technology or science might help in solving issues such as poverty or education. For instance, if the infrastructure of internet is improved, more students could be taught using this medium.

Overall, I believe that every subject has its own importance and are important in their own ways, neglecting anyone might not be healthy for a society. Although science and technology help in improving the economy, arts provides the required balance.

Changing Looks # Essay For IELTS

People try to change their look by arranging the color of their hair, using cosmetics, wearing jewelry or even having plastic surgery done. Why do you think people do this? Do you think changing look is a good thing?
Write atleast 250 words.
Change is the only thing constant and every decade comes with its own style. There was a time when people were crazy about having long hairs; the other time about wearing broad paints. At present times it is about looking attractive presentable and stylish and different. This has initiated a craze about coloring the hair, wearing funky cosmetics or even plastic surgery.

There could be several reasons for it. Firstly, wearing jewelry is often something that women really like. It makes them feel more lady like. Even more, a new perspective towards jewelry has been seen. It is now getting associated with being stylish. New kind of jewelry have come up and they help in boosting an individual confidence. Secondly, with coming of facebook, Instagram, twitter, people are getting more and more social. And this has brought in them a need for social acceptance. Looking different every day, has caught a new wave and people try every alternative from coloring to piercing to look different. Thirdly, information is flowing in more than one ways, so, when people hear that their favorite stars underwent a surgery and they see good changes, they often try to copy them.

In my opinion, changing look is a good thing and it allows and idea of novelty in one’s life, a kind of freshness that is acceptable. But going to extreme terms like plastic surgery is not something I support. It simply bring the ideas that may be you are not beautiful or you are imperfect. Even more, if people simply change themselves according to others, it somewhere lowers their self-esteem. Overall, change is good once a person has accepted oneself.

Children how to be good members of society # IELTS Essay

IELTS Writing Task – 2

Topic

Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Answer (Band Level 7.5)

Children are believed to be our world’s future and this is why they should be taught to become responsible members of society. Both parents and school are supposed to shape the children into excellent human beings. They are born with some traits and others are adopted during their growing stages.

Parents are the ones who imbibe good morals and etiquettes in their children at home during their initial stages which they maintain for the rest of their lives. It is the environment provided by them that mould the children into the human beings they grow up to be and their treatment of people around them. It is at home with the parents they discuss about the world and its vices, in order to distinguish between the good and the bad. The parents lay the foundation stone of their children upon which they grow into and become good Samaritans.

On the other hand, school is where they spend more of their time in the later stages. When in school, the teachers are their sole authority and are responsible for their growth and development. Children have to follow the rules and regulations set by the school in order to lead a disciplined life, inside and outside the school vicinity. It is in school that the children learn academically and socially which makes them well rounded individuals. They learn how to cope with situations and deal with people which is important for them to subsist as good beings in the real world.

In conclusion, it can be said that for children to become a responsible and conscientious human beings, the involvement of both the parents and the school in teaching them right from wrong and good behaviour within the society is necessary. Separately, they cannot be held responsible for the children’s overall growth and development into ethically good members of our society.
