Dear Sir/Ma’am,

I am writing to ask for the copies of the reports and the assignments that I did during the presentation skill course last year.

I am Anmol Tanubhrt. Last year, I attended a year-long course, August 8 2008 to July 9 2009 on presentation skills, under the guidance of Dr. Ashton Swift. We were asked to submit different reports and assignments on a varied range of topics, including some where I did field work.

Recently, I got placed with McKenzie as a Marketing head, and they required a copy of all the previous work. I have submitted my other works but now they are asking for the copies of my reports and assignments done during my college days as well. Following are the four major reports I have submitted –

  1. Advertising- its effect on human minds.
  2. Is vocabulary important to survive?
  3. India- its culture or its modernity?
  4. Employment Structure in USA.

Apart from these, there are 25 other assignments I submitted.

You could send the above information by e-mail. I would like to receive it as soon as possible but not later than a week.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Anmol Tanubhrt,

Issues With Services # Letter For IELTS

You should spend 20 minutes on this task.

You recently went to a restaurant for a meal. But you are dissatisfied with the services provided to you.

Write to the manager to complain about it. Give details about the problems and request some compensation or refund.

You should write at least 150 words. You do not need to write any addresses.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express  my dissatisfaction with the services that I received at your restaurant.

I ordered a vegetarian full course meal on 13/02/2015, just three days ago. After few of the dishes that I ordered, we started getting random items. When I contacted your representative, they instead of being sorry, blamed me,saying it was my fault, and I had not ordered correctly. To add misery to my insult, when I refused to rather eat any dish and move out, they asked me to pay the bill for the dishes, neither I ordered nor ate. On refusing to do say ,they asked me to wash the dishes. Even more, when I tried contacting you on phone, no one offered me any sensible answer. You can imagine how such a behavior upsets me, owing to the fact that I am one of your permanent customers.

I hope you can settle this matter by either returning me back my money or offering me a meal worth the amount I paid. Otherwise, I will be forced to complaint to higher authorities.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Alice Degenres.

Answering Properly # Reading Section

Reading section is often the most difficult section, for students. What makes it more difficult is although you know the answer, it is very important that you answer it properly. After all, you are marked on the basis of what you have answered, rather than whether you knew the answer or not. For today, let us have a look at how to answer in reading section and gain all the marks.

  1. STYLE MATTERS- Yes, the way you answer the question must be similar to the way it has been given in the example. For instance, if in the example the answer is given as 34%, your answer must be given as a number, followed by percentage. If you answer as simply 34 or 34 percent, chances are that you may lose some marks.
  2. WORD LIMIT- Often in questions a word limit is given for answering the question. Even prepositions and articles are counted as words. Make sure you answer within the word limit, if you exceed it, you may lose some marks.
  3. APPROPRIATE ANSWER- Often while reading a passage you may find details, that could fit in the question of an answer. Sometimes it so happens that the question is asking for just one of the options available in the passage. If you answer more than one,( just because they are given), you may surely lose marks.

So, go on, read the passage properly, but more importantly, answer them properly.
