My home town is Dehradun a valley town nestled in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. A bouquet of picturesque sights and natural landscapes, it is certainly one of the most beautiful places one can visit in India. It is also the state capital of Uttarakhand, and is two hundred and fifty kilometers away from the national capital.

Dehradun is also colloquially known as the gateway to God’s abode. It is famous for its variegated plethora of tourist attractions such as Mussouri, Kempty falls, Camel’s back mountains, and many other such beautiful places. In addition to it, the suburb is also renowned as an education hub seeing that it plays a host to many good colleges and institutions. Many students from all over the country come to study here.

Furthermore, the Indian Military Academy is also situated near the heart of the city and is a crown jewel of the city, imparting a glorious prestige to the place. Other famous attributes include seasonal fruits such as lichi as well as the pleasant weather conditions that prompt tourism as well. In fact, it is one of the few places in the country where one can experience five different seasons of the year. Dehradun is a developing place and is home to many local businesses in the field of marketing, sales, information technology, construction, and food. In fact, people apart from farming and government jobs work in these sectors to make a living.

Moreover, it is a maze of long winding roads with a lot of twists and turns and has its own unique essence that the locals cherish. These are a few reasons for my hometown being beautiful and for my love for the place.

  • Who did you complain about it?
  • What was the result?
  • How did you feel about it?

customer-support Best IELTS Band 7 coaching in Dehradun

Sample answer:

Complaining about a product or service that we buy is also a common phenomenon. We always contact customer services to know any details, to give feedback, or to discuss any issues. I have also complained about a lot of problems relating to the products that I purchase. I fancy myself as an electronic gadget collector and keep purchasing the latest gadgets and electronics that are releasing in the market every now and then.

I once purchased a new phone from a brand outlet in my city. Basically, it was a smartphone and I liked it very much. Two days passed by and the phone’s screen stopped working as soon as I put it on charge. This sudden issue in the device both surprised and saddened me. Anyway, I tried to power the device on and off and went through with all the steps listed in the user manual, but to no avail. Eventually, I called up the service centre, to complain about it and listed out the issue to them with details. They made me reboot the phone and reconnect the battery. These steps did not work and hence they told me to bring over the phone to the centre.

I eagerly took the phone to them and they told me after checking the device that it was a software issue. The staff were very polite and fixed the issue very quickly, without any extra cost. I was very happy about the prompt service and proper ownership of the staff. It was a satisfying experience visiting the service centre and receiving a prompt reply regarding my complaint.

book-that-you-have-read Best IELTS Band 7 coaching in Dehradun

Sample answer:

Reading books is a very beneficial habit with a lot of advantages. Books are considered as some of the best friends a person can have. I have staunchly believed in this idea since the starting and I love reading books. In fact, reading is my favourite hobby and I am a voracious reader.

I have read a lot of books from different authors and in different genres. My favourite genres are thrillers, adventure, mystery, and conspiracy. The author whose books I like reading the most is Mr. Dan Brown. An extremely brilliant author, he is well known for penning down the character Robert Langdon who is the protagonist of a majority of his works. I have recently finished reading his latest work, ‘Inferno’. It is about Robert Langdon solving a mystery to stop an evil scientist from spreading a lethal virus. The book starts with him waking up in strange surroundings, leading him through the mystery with the climax ending in his failure to stop the virus from infecting the world.

I chose this book as I admire the author’s work and have read all his other titles. Since this book was his latest one, I could not stop myself from buying and reading it. I liked the way the storyline progresses and systematically reveals all the characters in due time. The plot in itself is very detailed and caught my interest very quickly. In addition, I really like the style of writing, the genre, and the attention to detail. Apart from this, the book has helped me with a vivid imagination of the scenarios while I read it, which in itself is amazing.

career-counselling Best IELTS Band 7 Coaching in Dehradun

Sample answer:

Lectures are one of the best ways in modern days to transfer knowledge to people. Many professors and teachers give lectures in different fields to empower people with education. I have also attended many such lectures.

One such memorable occasion was when I attended a lecture that was delivered in our school auditorium. It took place when I was in the twelfth standard, right after my half-yearly exams in September. I was notified about it a week ago and on the day of the lecture, we assembled in the auditorium. The lecture was from a teacher which was a part of a career counseling team that specializes in providing expert advice to students regarding career issues. The faculty, Mr. Amitabh, came on the stage promptly and went to the podium in order to greet all the attendees. His lecture was vastly detailed and covered topics such as career possibilities, options for higher studies, social stigmas and pressure a student might face, and intellectual development ideas.

Firstly, he started with informing us about various career opportunities and the path to follow to achieve success. Moving on to the social stigmas, he then spoke at length about how to come over such issues and be resolute about the decisions we make. A quite innovative lecture, it covered a lot of ideas through audio-visual mediums as well and was very informative. I got highly impressed by the lecture and took home a better understanding of the decisions I had to take for my career. It was a learning experience and answered all my doubts regarding my future.
