Woman pay and promotion # IELTS WRITING TASK 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:

In spite of many advances women have made in education and employment, they continue to be at a disadvantage when it comes to pay and promotion. In your view, what should be done to promote equality of opportunity for men and women in the workplace?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge and experience.
Write at least 250 words.

In many regions of the world, women have achieved a social status which is on a par with that of men. Definitely, the credit for this progress goes to their sincere efforts in acquiring the highest educational qualifications and professional skills. Nevertheless, females continue to experience gender discrimination and lack of promotion in workplaces.
Some experts may argue that this issue is never likely to be solved as men’s feeling of being superior than women will always prevail in society. Therefore, this problem can only be minimized and never completely erased. But, in my view, we just have not worked and analyzed the problem enough to claim defeat.
A possible approach would be for the government to compel organizations to follow two rules. Firstly, equal salaries must be paid to all employees for equivalent work. Secondly, the percentage of promoted employees should be equal for both genders. At the same time, regular checkups should be conducted on all tax paying companies to ensure that the measures are strictly followed. This approach appears quite promising. However, the problem is that it would take too long to execute. It can also be seen as an overly excessive measure. Not to mention that big companies could easily fake the data.
A more feasible approach would be for the governments to take the lead and ensure that no discrimination takes place on any of its own grounds. In all government organizations, women must be treated properly and their work must be recognized accordingly. This policy would be more realistic as it would enable the government to grab the problem by is roots instead of trying to yank its stem out along with the roots. In addition, these steps would establish equal payment as an unspoken norm. They would also make the government an ideal role model for other private companies. In fact, countries such as Sweden and Iceland have proven the effectiveness of such measures.
To sum up, it is most likely true that the situation will improve with time but that should not stop us from putting a little more effort so as to solve it quickly or put it to rest once and for all.

WRITING TASK 1 MAP Before and After IELTS Band 7 Level

The given maps illustrate the changes in the appearance of an island, before and after the construction of some visitor amenities.
Looking at the first map before the construction, it is noticeable that it is a big island with a beach in the west. The length of the island is approximately 250 meters. The island has no buildings and the eastern part has more palm trees as compared to the west.
In the second map, many new buildings such as accommodation facilities, a reception and a restaurant etc. have been built on the island. The lodging amenities are located in two areas. While one area is close to the beach, the other one is slightly far from the beach. Between them there is a restaurant in the north and a central reception block which is surrounded by a vehicle track. This track also goes down to the pier where tourists can go sailing in the south sea of the island. In addition to the vehicle tracks, footpaths have been constructed to go around the facilities and to the beach. Owing to all these developments the beach is now used for swimming. Interestingly, the eastern part of the island remains unchanged.
Overall, it is evident that it was a wild island which has been transformed into a well-developed tourist facility where tourists can fully exploit the scenic island and enjoy outdoor activities like swimming and sailing.

IELTS speaking # shopping

IELTS speaking section questions and answers related to shopping.

Question 1: Do you enjoy shopping?

Answer A: Well, I love shopping because spending time on some of my favorite and essential things makes me feel happy. It is my favorite time pass which always elevates my mood.
Answer B: Actually, I don’t like to go shopping very frequently. As far as I think, it’s a waste of time and money. We should spend our earnings very carefully as we burn the midnight oil to be financially strong. So, we should spend on our needs not on accessories.

Question 2: How do you feel about shopping?
Answer: Well, for me, shopping is a soothing and relaxing experience. It is about buying some essential commodities and sometimes we can spend on few lifestyle products. But, I would like to mention that I mostly shop for clothes.

Question 3: Do you like shopping on the internet?
Answer A: Absolutely! I love to shop on the internet because online shopping offers many advantages over traditional shopping. First and foremost, some online stores have amazing collections for every age group. Secondly, we can buy anything through the net without going to crowded marketplaces and it’s a hustle free process. Thirdly, return policies have made it more attractive. Last but not the least, these stores have competitive prices for leading brands.
Answer B: Well, I am not very fond of online shopping. And the reason behind this is my poor experience. Most of the products which I bought through the internet were defective and duplicate. My credit card information was also misused. So, I always prefer traditional shopping over the internet.
Question 4: Do you have any favourite stores?
Answer: Yes! I prefer to shop from Reliance stores as they have everything available with them and at reasonable prices. These stores provide a wide range of products from groceries to lifestyle. More importantly, they have exciting offers for their customers.

Question 5: Which is the most popular place for shopping in your home-town?
Answer: Actually, there are many places in my town which are famous for shopping. They are well-known for different reasons. For instance, Rajpur Road is famous for various brands outlets and designer wear shops whereas Paltan Market and Indira market are the places which are popular among the crowd for the affordability and vast collection of clothes along with essential commodities.
