IELTS Essay Sample Answer # Higher Education In Abroad

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Every year an increasing number of students are doing their higher education in abroad.

Do you think the benefits of this development outweigh the problems associated with it?

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

The past few decades have marked a dramatic shift in the number of people who choose to study abroad. Although studying abroad brings about great benefits for the individuals, it also has some disadvantages.

On the positive side of the trend, studying abroad provides better and more options to students to choose from. For instance, a student studying in a developing country might not have as many course or better facilities available (especially if he/she is not in the top colleges) as compared to those available in universities of developed countries.

Secondly, students get to meet more people from varied culture when studying in other country. This helps in making them more flexible and open to changes. Thirdly, it helps to promote the mutual understanding between their native country and their destination countries.

On the other hand, studying abroad is not possible for everyones pocket. The courses are quite expensive and because of the difference between economies of different countries, it costs an arm and leg to many. Even more, some students are not able to adjust to the new environment or sometimes the climate and other factors go against the students.

To sum up, one cannot deny that studying abroad has disadvantages and it is not possible for every one to make it, but the positives outnumber the negatives.

IELTS Essay Sample Answer # Change

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Some people prefer doing the same things through out their lives and avoid changes. Others believe that change is always a good thing.

Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Most people struggle with change even if it is for the better. Some people are of the opinion that changes always bring positive impact on our lives while others are of the opinion that changes involve high risk and taking them can even make us fall from the place we are at. In my opinion, not all the changes are successful but we learn from the failures too. It’s a great opportunity for those who would embrace the changes and a tough time for those who don’t.

If embraced rightly, changes are very helpful. Firstly, they make a person more flexible. Changes are an integral part of our lives. Being stubborn or resistant to new things make life more stressful. Changes teach that it is good to be like fluid and go with the flow. The next best thing about change is that it makes us smarter. It is only when things change that we learn new things. For instance, it was after the creation of android phones that people started using phones excessively for playing games or doing internet.

On the other hand, changes are not always good. For instance, if a child good in studies and sports changes himself or herself to be more like a terrorist, it is not the best thing happening. Even more, frequent changes are not acceptable by old. Old people are mostly the ones who have undergone many changes through out their lives and now tend to live a more steady life doing things that they life.

Overall, changes do bring instability in ones life, which might not be good for some. However, changes if taken with positive stride mostly either teach a lesson or push us towards something better.

IELTS Essay Sample Answer # Student Activities

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Full time university students must spend most of their time studying rather than doing other activities.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Full time study in university is a life time experience, the kind one should enjoy every bit of. However, most students during this period, take up other activities as well such as part time jobs, participating in debates, sports, theater etc. Some people are of the opinion that students must focus on their studies rather than other activities, while others disagree. In my opinion, if one can balance between studies and other activities, such events surely help in grooming ones personality.

Simply studying what is being taught or what is in the books does not produce good quality youth for the country. This way, students merely learn the theoretical knowledge but lacks in the practical skills required for living a successful life. For instance, a student who is always involved in his/her books might lack in presenting his/her ideas or how the business works. In contrast, a student working part time, knows how to earn money and how things work, even how to save money. These are precious learning that help in later years of life.

On the other hand, some people are of the opinion that it is better to gain as much theoretical knowledge as one can during the college years so as to earn a better job after completing the college. Once the course is completed one can easily apply the knowledge gained. Diverting students from their studies can make them miss their targets.

Overall, in my opinion, having sound theoretical knowledge is as important as gaining practical insights. The best way would be to blend the studies and extra-curricular activities.

IELTS Essay Sample Answer # Money Spent

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Universities should spend same amount of money for their sport activities as they spent on their libraries.

Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Every sports person is not a failure in academics and every topper is not unfit for sports. Education system at higher levels i.e. universities often spend more money on libraries as compared to different sports activities. Some people are of the opinion that since only students interested in studies make up to universities, it is obvious that there should be more emphasis on libraries, however, others disagree.

Spending more money on building up a better library system surely benefits the students. Firstly, more number of books, makes sure that every student get a book. For instance, if there are 100 students attending a particular course and there are 60 books available in the library, it creates a feeling of lack in the left out 40 students. Even more, having a variety of books helps students in their research areas. For example, if there are five books available on a particular topic, it allows student a more in depth knowledge of that particular course.

Money Spent

On the other side, one cannot deny that sports are equally important for the overall development of the individual. Imagine a student excellent in football, if the college does not have a football team it will leave the student studying books or wandering about rather than working on his/her hobby. Spending equal amount of money on sports as in library, will provide students the right environment of work and play.

Overall, sports are equally important for the development of child as are books and one cannot overshadow the former in front of later. In my opinion, the better option would be to encourage students to participate in both, library as well as sports.
