Sample Answer
Whether the school teachers or the government should take the onus of the education imparted in educational institutes is a moot point. I personally believe that both the teachers and the policy makers should play an active role in planning, devising and implementing the curriculum at all levels of education.

To begin with, most of the countries in the contemporary world have a Ministry Of Education which deals with all the matters and policies regarding education. The Ministry appoints academicians and administrative staff who plan and formulate the curriculum for all the classes in the primary, secondary or high schools. Not only that, they also give directions to the schools about the number and type of assessments which will be used to check the students’ progress. Furthermore, this department can make changes and amendments as and when required depending on the feedback received from the schools and parents.

However, the educators who actually teach the students in a classroom situation also play a vital role in the educational system. They are the ones who follow the curriculum and deliver the lectures using a wide range of audio-visual aids. Although curriculum designing is of paramount importance, the value of an effective teacher cannot be overlooked. They can arouse interest and inquisitiveness of learners which helps in better understanding of the topics.

All in all, the government and the teachers together make the educational machinery run. There has to be a close association and cohesiveness between the two in order to increase the level of education of a nation.

IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay: Researching and treating diseases is too costly so it would be better to invest in preventive measures.

Prevention is better than cure. Researching and treating diseases is too costly so it would be better to invest in preventive measures.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
SAMPLE ANSWER

Prevention and cure are two different concepts that are intertwined. Prevention from diseases is considered better than cure because it saves us from the problems of curing through medicines. Today the cost of research and treatment of many diseases is skyrocketing. Hence, in my opinion, prevention is always better than cure. The concept of cure should always be given less importance than prevention, as the latter is cheaper, better, and more convenient to implement.

This idea teaches us to be careful at all times. This should be followed in order to keep any problems at bay and maintain a healthy body at all times. Research and treatments for ailments might be advancing at a good pace, but they have their own limitations. Without prevention, these ailments can grow bigger and exponentially so. There may come a point where even the best cure has a possibility of failing.

Furthermore, being healthy is any day better than being sick, as it takes a toll on one’s body. Cures may accelerate repair and growth of the body and its functions, but such damages are never fully recoverable. Ailments of any kind may be able to disrupt our lives in different aspects. People now understand cure as a key to a healthy life with room for negligence and rash lifestyle. Prevention requires efforts, and people in today’s world have become lethargic in this context. However, we need to focus more and engage resources on the idea of prevention rather than utilizing multifold resources on a cure.

These days, moving out to another place for pursuing higher education has become a common trend. It poses a dilemma before the majority of us. In my opinion the latter is far more favorable as it opens one up to a wide range of prospects. This essay will talk about the reasons to support my agreement.

There are innumerable cases wherein people from rural areas with simple personalities have been molded into dynamic thinkers and problem solvers. There have been many people including various famous personalities who gained sophistication and were transformed after living away from their homes, on their own. This genuinely proves how a student living away from home can or has to transform himself. Keeping in mind situations when no one else is around to offer direct unconditional help as parents do.

In addition to this, when students need to spread their wings to soar in the sky of successes and failures, they need to go out and get their own experiences. They need to understand the world for themselves while managing their limited finances. This first-hand experience teaches them about tackling different situations and grappling with all sorts of challenges with dexterity. This falsifies the apprehensions and hypothetical worries of their parents about them. As a matter of fact, this is possible only if they get an opportunity to live on their own away from the patronizing home atmosphere.

Finally, students living with parents owing to lack of finances may be, or any other reason whatsoever, might not get such an opportunity. But in such cases, they always have other ways to achieve a wholesome personality development. To sum it up, it is highly necessary to stay away from one’s home during the course of higher education, as of course, it is the base to their future, especially, professional life.

What makes great artists, musicians, writers, or athletes: Nature or Nurture? This question has intrigued philosophers and scientists for centuries. I personally think that factors like family and environment play a decisive role in one’s life and successful career. Nevertheless, some natural talent is required to excel in areas such as sport, art or music.

Let us first look at how an innate ability in art or music or sport can make a difference. Certainly, it differentiates a person who has learned to play a sport or an instrument from someone who has mastered that skill. In other words, natural talent wins over a learned technique. It allows gifted people to reach a level which their hard-working counterparts can never manage. Also, learning that extra element is almost impossible, no matter how hard someone practices or how good the teachers are.

However, natural talent is an internal factor that can contribute to someone’s success. There are numerous external factors such as family, environment, experiences and training etc. which have their own significance. Good musicians, exceptional sports starts or other successful people are not made in one day. Years of hard work, family support, training and devotion make them what they are. Composer Beethoven and tennis legend Roger Federer are the telling examples.

To sum up, nature and nurture are inseparable. Inherited talents can affect our ability to reach the top level in certain professions. However, people can acquire skills and achieve their goals if they live in a conducive environment.
