Sample Answer :

Speeches have always been a fun event to me.  I was particularly interested in public speaking since childhood.  I used to listen to lot of speeches on the radio and television. Speaking to a huge crowd requires lot of self-confidence. I remember lot of good speeches that I’ve heard in my life. Also I can recall some really bad speeches.

I wish to talk about one specific speech given to us at the national AIESEC conference by a UN Indian Ambassador. The speech was interesting, brief and very informative.

The speech was given by at the opening ceremony of the conference. He was giving a speech to brief us about the new sustainable development goals designed in the UN for the betterment of the world. He has been a part of the Indian panel that is associated with the development of the nation. He has been working with the UN from the last 5 years. He began his journey as a former volunteer from the IIT Delhi cell. He also inspired us to work for the society and his speech kept me awestruck. I understood the importance for empathy.

His speeches included lot of breath taking examples and view from different walks of people. He told us various stories of compassion and empathy. He had made a real effort to prepare a good speech that was funny, well-researched, engaging and genuinely heart-touching.  For example, he made us play this amazing ball game ice breaker, which helped  a lot to understand the various representatives better. It was a great way to ‘break the ice’ and involve everyone, and the results were hilarious.

I think the speech was outstanding as it involved everyone, shared funny (but not too private) stories. It was also not too long!  It held interest, and was appropriate for the us to engage.

The speech gave an insight on what effective communication can do and how it can help interact with people in a positive way.

My hometown Dehradun is a small but vibrant city. Locals have access to a wide range of entertainment facilities such as sports centers, shopping malls and cinemas etc. Today, I’m going to talk about a very popular place which is visited by thousands of people every day.

It’s a huge shopping complex called the Pacific Mall. It was opened to the public in 2015. The building is located in a posh area of Dehradun. Young adults normally use their own mode of transport like car, bike or scooter to reach there. Some families prefer public transport as parking is quite expensive in the complex.

This shopping center is equipped with a 4-screen cinema, lots of branded shops, multicultural food courts and children’s play areas.  Concerts, music and dance competitions are also organized regularly. Depending upon the interest and the purpose of visiting the mall, people can decide what they wish to do in the complex. They can watch the latest films, enjoy delicious food from China, Thailand and Italy or participate in cultural programs. Shoppers can also get a fabulous shopping experience. Children too can have a lot of fun in designated play areas.

Another special feature of this place is that people can meet renowned writers, musicians and chefs on gazetted holidays like 15th August, 2nd October and 26th January and festivals. They can even give suggestions about who should be invited in the future. The public is duly informed about the upcoming events through adverts in local newspapers. Certainly, all these facilities make it an ideal place for all age groups. It’s is worth visiting.

I love travelling and visiting unexplored places. Today, I’m going to talk about a place that is not visited by many tourists.

The name of the place is Ladakh which means land of high passes. It’s a mountainous region in Jammu and Kashmir State of India. I went to Ladakh last year with my friends.

Ladakh has a lot to offer to its tourists. It’s known for its unparalleled beauty. Arid mountains, exotic lakes and mighty rives can leave visitors mesmerized. We stayed there for a week and every day was packed with lots of activities. My friends and I did rafting in the Indus River. We tried mountain climbing too but found it quite challenging. We visited some monasteries as well. Overall, the whole stay became a memorable experience for all of us.

Even though Ladakh is a marvellous place to visit, sadly, the number of tourists is quite low. The main region behind this is its location. Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed state which is terribly affected by terrorism and other host of problems. Safety becomes a major issue for visitors. Only adventurous and thrill seekers dare to go there. Another key reason is that the government doesn’t promote tourism in this area. People have to pay a lot of money for accommodation and other facilities. All these factors certainly affect people’s decision when it comes to visiting a new place.

SAMPLE ANSWER-

The Polaroid camera that belongs to me is immensely important for me. I’m not a materialistic person but since the time my mother gifted me this camera, I am totally obsessed with it. On my birthday this year, I got a Fujifilm Polaroid camera in a clunky pastel pink color as a present and it has been a crucial part of my life from that day. As a kid, instant photographs that were shown in the movies fascinated me and I always dreamt of owning a device that develops pictures within minutes.

It has been two months since I turned 23 and my parents presented me with this camera when I got my university results. It holds a special place in my heart as I was rewarded for performing exceptionally well in my exams. As I have always been fond of photography, I used it to click my friends and loved ones pictures and it is the best way to make memories with them. The photograph that develops gives a vintage effect and captures memories admirably.

The reasons why it is significant in my life is that primarily, it is gifted to me by my mother. In addition, it captures the present moment in a perfect way making it more memorable. I have also reserved a space in my room where I have a collection of all the unforgettable and momentous moments by sticking Polaroid pictures on the wall and this corner of my room has to be my personal favorite space.
