Sample Answer Whenever there is any good news, I always try to cherish it. Today, I’d like to about one such news that I
received a couple of months ago.
The news was about getting a new job. I had completed my Master in Business Administration with
specialization in marketing last year. Since then, I was searching for a job in the marketing field where I
can interact with different types of people and have an opportunity to enhance my communication
skills. I had even applied in a number of multinational companies for the post of a marketing executive.
Fortunately, I was called for an interview by one of the prestigious organizations where I found that
many candidates were in the race for the job. As it was my first interview, I was not completely
confident and was feeling the pressure of competition. I was not satisfied with my interview and had
lost all the hopes of getting this job. But, to my surprise, after a week got a phone call from the HR
department of the company where I went for the interview. The caller told me that I was hired for the
post I had applied for and the appointment letter had been sent to my e-mail address.
It contained the offer of appointment along with terms and conditions, job responsibilities and the date
of reporting to the company. Along with this letter, they offered me free air ticket to the headquarters
of the company where I would have to go to take the pre-job training for a month.
I jumped with joy after reading the letter and felt a little proud of myself. I immediately broke the news
to my parents and they were elated after they heard it. I went to the temple next day with my parents
and thanked God for his kindness.

Describe a time when you were surprised to meet a friend.

Life is full of surprises and I love being surprised by something or someone. Today I’d like to talk about one such experience of mine, when I was amazed to meet one of my old school friends.

Her name is Shivani and we studied together in the same high school. After completing senior secondary education from India, she decided to pursue her tertiary education from a foreign university. So she went to Australia and unfortunately we both lost contact with each other.

Last week I went to a shopping mall to purchase a new pair of shoes for myself. When I was at a renowned shoe store brand, Nike, looking for suitable shoes , I heard a familiar voice and turned around to see who the person exactly was. To my surprise, she turned out to be my school friend. I waved a hand towards her in excitement and she too recognized me immediately.Both of us were surprised and elated to see each other after a long time. We gave a tight hug to each other and decided to spend some time together. We went to a cafeteria and ordered coffee with some snacks.

Over the cups of coffee, we recalled the memories of our school days especially, the time we spent with our friends ; playing games and doing mischievous activities. During our conversation she told me , that she had come to India to attend her cousin’s marriage and was shopping for the same event. We spent an hour together and now it was time to bid each other goodbye, but before that we clicked some photographs to keep memories of this meeting and exchanged contact numbers with each other to remain in touch. 

I felt lucky about this meeting as it helped me to reconnect with a good friend from the past and together we had a lot of fun.

Describe an area of science that interests you or you are interested in

I think that science has made an immense contribution in uplifting human society. It primarily
has 3 branches, physics, chemistry and biology and if I talk about myself, I am particularly
interested in biology and would like to talk about the same.
This area of science involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical
structure, development and evolution on the Earth. I got interested in this subject when I was
in 6 th standard, as the subject was introduced to me for the very first time. My school books
were full of pictures of animals and plants. I was surprised to learn how a tiny seed grows into a
healthy plant, different species of flora and fauna; habitat in which they can survive and the
features which help them to do so. Whenever, I saw a picture of a plant or an animal it made
me even more curious about this subject.
My teacher, Mrs Rawat was an exceptionally knowledgeable person and she made this subject
easy and fun learning with her teaching skills. I remember vividly, there was a science lab in my
school where we used to go every Saturday to carry out experiments and the activity I enjoyed
doing in the lab was to observe micro-organisms with the microscope. There were times when
students did not understand the lessons for the first time and Mrs Rawat have not scolded any
children when they ask for an explanation to the teacher. In fact, for better understanding of
certain aspects she often organized trips. Once our school organized a trip to Botanical Garden
in Kolkata. It was a memorable trip and I had learnt a lot from this trip about different species
of plants.
Although, I have not studied biology in my college, I have a keen interest in this subject and in
order to know more about different life forms and to keep my interest intact in this subject I do
watch wildlife and plant shows on educational channels like Planet Earth and Discovery.
