Line graph production of paper, wood pulp and sawn wood in the UK

Sample Answer:

The linear representation provides information about the production of three forest materials, namely, paper & packaging, wood pulp and sawn wood in the UK for 21 years, between 1980 and 2000. The data is measured in million tonnes.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the production of paper & packaging witnessed an increase, whilst it declined in the case of wood pulp and sawn wood in 2000 compared to the initial years’ figure.
Looking at the details, the production of paper & packaging was the highest of all three materials in 1980 and accounted for approximately 235 million tonnes. Later, the figure rose modestly till 1990 to exactly 250 million tonnes, then skyrocketed to 300 million tonnes in 2000.
By contrast, a significant difference of around 30 million tonnes can be observed in the production between wood pulp and sawn wood whose individual production stood at nearly 170 and 200 million tonnes respectively. Surprisingly, in 1990, the production of both materials was identical, meanwhile in 2000, wood pulp outraced sawn wood in terms of production.

IELTS GT Writing Task1

Sample Answer
Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services I received at your restaurant.
I visited the restaurant on June 29th, 2024, with my family to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Based on recommendations from relatives and colleagues, I had high expectations, but unfortunately, our meal and the service did not meet those expectations.
We arrived at the restaurant around half past seven and had to wait an hour to be seated. Then, when we tried to place the order, the waiters were not very attentive and it took ages to place the order. We ordered Chinese food and it was served cold. The soup lacked freshness, and the prawns were undercooked. Our main course, mushroom fried rice with vegetables, was mistakenly served as fried rice with eggs. Moreover, resolving this issue took over 40 minutes, which was frustrating. When we tried to address these concerns with the head waiter, he was unresponsive and dismissive.
I hope you will take this feedback seriously and work on improving the quality of your meals and the professionalism of your staff. Addressing these issues will help ensure a better experience for future customers.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Mary Woods

Academic Writing Task: Some people believe that schools should be allowed to evaluate and criticize their teachers

Academic Writing Task-2
Question: Some people believe that schools should be allowed to evaluate and criticize their teachers to improve the quality of education. Others think this is disrespectful to teachers. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Sample Answer:

Assessment of teachers plays a crucial role in improving the quality of education. Few folks reckon that learners should have the privilege to closely evaluate the class performance of teachers and come up with valuable feedback. However, others are against this notion and feel this practice to be quite disrespectful to teachers. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument and state my opinion in the forthcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, teachers indeed get a lot of benefits when learners assess them. Primarily, tutors have an opportunity to know how well the students can understand the lectures delivered to them and can make possible changes to the teaching methods to meet student demands. Subsequently, teachers who do not have acceptable ways of teaching can be given proper training. Furthermore, questionnaire usage for the same purpose without asking students to write their names on it will not hinder them from sharing feedback because they might feel scared to answer the same questions verbally.
On the other hand, opponents contemplate that giving learners the authority to evaluate teachers can have some adverse impacts. First and foremost, it can harm the teacher-student relationship as many pupils would use this situation to vent their frustration. Also, it is not an appropriate way to judge tutors since opinions vary from student to student. Apart from this, teachers feel that their efforts are not valued, and, as a result, their confidence levels are affected as they are always open to criticism.
To recapitulate, I believe that learners should contribute to teacher assessment, but, simultaneously, their feedback should be the only deciding factor for teacher performance. Instead, school or college management can use some other ways of teacher evaluation.(284 words)

Academic Writing Task-2
Question: The graph gives information about coffee production in 4 different countries from 1990 to 2010.
Summarise the data by selecting and reporting main features and make comparison where relevant.

Sample Answer:

The vertical bar graph compares coffee production in four nations over 21 years, from 1990 to 2010. The data is calibrated in million tonnes.
Overall, the graph shows that coffee production in Brazil, Indonesia, and Vietnam increased in 2010 compared to the previous year’s figure, while production in Colombia declined.
Looking at the details, Brazil had the highest coffee production in 1990, accounting for more than 0.6 million tonnes, and later, the figure rose significantly to nearly 2 million tonnes in 2010. However, Colombia’s production was approximately 0.1 million tonnes less than Brazil’s in the beginning, after which the number experienced a continuous downfall and levelled off below 0.4 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s and Vietnam’s coffee production levels accounted for 0.2 and about 0.1 respectively in 1990.
