While studying abroad you have to constantly give exams or test or quizzes. Even if you don’t, tests are something you have to give. You could be either in your college or university or high school. Given below are seven expressions that are used to describe anything related to test? It could be either how you gave the test or the result of the test.
- PROCRASTINATE

Sentence-: Internet has become one of the ways of procrastinating things by most of the people.
Meaning-: If you procrastinate something you postpone it i.e. you decide to do it later after finishing something off. For e.g if you have an exam and you keep on postponing its preparations for other things, you are procrastinating it. - PULL AN ALL NIGHTER

Sentence-: I pulled an all-nighter yesterday because I had a test today.
Meaning-: It means you do not sleep the whole night doing something. This usually happens if you procrastinate it for a long time. - CRAM

Sentence-: I had to cram the entire syllabus in a week.
Meaning-: If you study a lot of stuff in a very short time, you cram it. It means putting a lot of information in a short span of time. - BURN THE MIDNIGHT OIL

Sentence-: I think I need to burn the midnight oil to complete my project.
Meaning-: It is similar to an all-nighter. It means you stayed up all night. This expression came of in the ancient time, when people used the oil lamps to lighten there houses up after the dark. - FLUNK

MEANING-: it is a synonym of fail.It usually means you got a F grade. - PASS WITH FLYING COLORS

Meaning-: it means you did great on your test. May be you got the highest or among the highest. - KILLED AN EXAM

Sentence-: when I asked him how he did, he said, “ I killed the exam”.
Meaning-: It means you have aced the exam. - PASS BY THE SKIN OF MY TEETH

Sentence-: I did not flunked, I passed the exam by the skin of my teeth.
Meaning-: It means you have just passed the exam. For example-: if the passing marks are 50 you just got 51.
