Sample Answer:

In the modern era, with the evolution of technology, looking for necessary information from the internet is more convenient. From my view, despite the advantages of online information, I believe that libraries have a crucial place in a student’s life.

On one side, there are obvious reasons why online learning provides numerous benefits. Firstly, it is a well known fact that the information on the internet is boundless. For example, lot of books, articles and useful ideas are posted on websites and blogs to help people access them for free. Secondly, as long as one has working internet connection on their smart gadgets, one can get almost all the data, whereas libraries have a fixed running time per day.

On the other hand, there are various reasons why libraries hold a better place in education. Primarily, lot of libraries store various books and articles which was written by many great souls of antiquity. Also libraries provide a much better learning environment with quietness and reliable data in the highest quality and reliable books. One great example for this is if the student needs a place for studying and discussing the subject, libraries are the best choice.

Although, I recognise that accessing information online is much efficient and improves rapidly the warning process of students, I would point out that libraries maintain their positions in our life, particularly learning of students.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example from your own knowledge.
Write at least 250 words.

Sample Answer:

Many developing countries in the world today are facing the issue of professionals migrating to other developed countries in search of better employment opportunities. This essay will help reflect on the causes of the situation and suggest possible ways to deal with this problem.

There are many reasons that have led to this scenario. The first and foremost one is the lack of professional opportunity in poor countries. increasing number of new graduates places pressure on the job market, which makes job-searching a very major task. Another factor behind this problem is salary. The income is not at par with the dedication and effort one puts in a job. Further, the working environment does not cater to the needs of the intellectuals. For these reasons, competent individuals prefer to leave their motherland and shift outside the country.

Taking into consideration all the causes, measures to stop brain draining can be constructively structured. The labor market needs to be expanded to create more job opportunities. Furthermore, extra pay or promotions can also help retain the talent. Lastly, it is important to construct a professional working environment which can help the skilful employees to develop their own capability.

Hence, it is pretty clear that there are obvious reasons encouraging the brain capital flight in developing countries. However, I understand that if proper steps are implemented, we will be able to tackle the problem and help solve it for a better future.

IELTS ESSAY: Are E-Books Good?

Writing task 2 : IELTS Essay: Are E-Books Good ?

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:

With the rise of e-books comes the decline in paper books. Some people see this as a good step forward while others do not. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

Sample Answer:

The advancement in technology in the recent years has witnessed a serious decline in paper book sales. More and more readers today have switched on to the digital platform to pursue their reading habits. Slowly the old trend of people seen holding books is quickly replaced by the lazy heads sticking to their LED screens. This transformation has its own benefits and drawbacks. I will look at both the sides of the tale in this essay.

Firstly, with the rise of e-books it has been comparatively easier for the reader to find and use books at a more comfortable pace. This also facilitates choosing of the books as per the needs of the reader according to the genre, author, language, etc. The leisure reading becomes favourable like never before when we could read our desired books whenever and wherever we want with any preferred gadget. It is also financially feasible as sometimes people cannot afford buying so many books regularly, which is now solved with the discovery of e-books because all of the data stored on the internet is free of charge. On the whole, e-books serve majorly to inculcate reading culture around the world.

However there are various drawbacks to the above discussed space. To start with, the availability of free books on the internet doesn’t account for the value it has received from people. Adding to that, it is worth mentioning that e-books seriously damage eyesight and also cause other possible visual defects. Further, e-books also affect the printing industry massively.

As per the above arguments, I conclude that e-books has both pros and cons. However, it is my firm belief that it is an inevitable trend given development of the reading industry.

Sample Answer

Dear Mr Smith,
I am writing concerning the position of Education Counsellor that I am due to begin next Wednesday, 15th April 2018. For some unavoidable reasons, I am unable to take up this position on the agreed date.
My son is in 10th class. His board examinations were supposed to be over on the 5th April, but due to a paper leak scandal, the Central Board of Secondary Education has cancelled the last exam of Mathematics. There are reports that the board will reschedule the exam for all 10th class students. The new exam date is not yet announced and as of now, the situation remains quite unclear. Due to this problem, I have to postpone my date of joining in your organization.
Please accept my sincere apologies and know that I fully understand the inconvenience this issue has caused.
I hope that you would allow me to take up my position with you three weeks later than originally planned. I would like to emphasise that I remain very keen to work with your organisation. This postponement would as I very well realize will affect student enrolment in the busiest time of the year but as I have stated before I do not have much of a choice in the matter.
I look forward to receiving a positive reply.
Kind Regards,
Akriti Singh
