IELTS Cue Card 2024: DESCRIBE AN OVERCROWDED PLACE THAT YOU WENT TO.

Describe an overcrowded place that you went to.

You should say:

  • When did you go there?
  • How long were you there?
  • How did you feel when you were there.

Sample Answer

Often, people have to visit places that are overcrowded. Mostly, social gatherings get overcrowded when the size of the venue is small and the number of people visiting there increases. Most of my family members are outgoing people, and they like to be part of social events. When I was 17 years old, my father took me to an overcrowded festival called Kumbh Mela, which is considered an important event in our religion. Kumbh is held every 12 years in Haridwar, which is a religious tourist spot. People from all around the country and even from outside our country visit this festival.
The festival goes on for weeks, though we were there only for two days. During the whole time, we had to be extra cautious with our belongings. It is common for pickpockets to be present at such a spot. I was also advised by my family to be alert all the time because in such crowds, stampedes can also happen, which can result in accidents. Thankfully, nothing like that happened because of proper arrangements and the presence of police personnel. I experienced mixed emotions at this location, as I wasn’t accustomed to such large gatherings. I saw people who were poor and  not as blessed as we are. Also, I was fascinated to see saints and sages from different parts of the country.

Solving this puzzle takes a lot of concentration. There are a quintillion ways to decipher this complex game. I learned about Rubik’s cube from my math tutor, who used to help me out when I was studying in high school. Learning to solve a Rubik’s cube takes a lot of patience and strong will.

In this era, there are a plethora of websites that we use nowadays. These websites are advantageous for us. Today I would like to talk about a website that I often use.
The website that I frequently visit is Diksha.com . It was introduced to me by my colleague during covid time. It provides a wide variety of educational courses for teachers. At the time of COVID 19, it was important for the teachers to keep themselves updated and to conduct online workshops for students. This website was programmed by the government of India and it consisted of numerous online courses .

The best part was that after the completion of the course you even get a certificate which was government approved. I did many courses from that website and it proved to be beneficial. It even had a course on AI which was the need of the hour. Courses such as human well being, environmental safety, child well being proved to be exquisite. I use it a lot. There’s always some new content to look at. And this website has been extremely helpful to me in gaining knowledge and always learning something new.
