Are all your days same?

Answer A) I am a travel show host. So, for most of the time I am travelling and during those days, I think every minute is different. One does not know what is going to happen in the very next moment, especially when we are shooting in locations where either crime rate is high or the red light area for instance. We are always on run and landscapes change just as fast as the time ticks away. During the days, when I am home, they are different initially, when I need to meet lots of people, old friends, get in touch with relatives, spend time with my family. But, after some time, they tend to become monotonous, however that is for a very short period of time.

Answer B) I am a student, currently doing my Bachelors. For me, most of the days are same. I need to go to college, attend the classes, do practicals, then assignments and take tuition, so they are very much the same. It is only on Sundays or other holidays that I get time to spend with my family and friends. During these days, we either go out for a nice dinner or visit a near by place.

Learning is a continuous process and to be able to be able to succeed in your life, it is very important that you are involved in continuous learning process. Let us have a look at some of the questions related to learning and possible answers.

What is the most important skill nowadays?

Computers have revolutionized the way the world operates and have become an inevitable part of our lives. One can find them everywhere and there use has become very important. So, I think computers, is that one skill that has really become very important. Also, with the coming of internet, more and more people tend to pay bills and book tickets and do the others things online.

Are there any traditional skills in your country?

Most of the people in our country are well versed in sewing and weaving. In my childhood, I remember wearing sweaters weaved by my grand mother and mother. Also, one can find many people employed in the business of sewing. People, in my country tend to get the clothes stitched by tailor and even there are many who wear clothes sewed by them.

In many parts of the world, there is a profitable market for products which lighten or brightens the skin.

Outline the reasons for using such product and discuss what effects they have in terms of health and society.

SAMPLE ANSWER

In many countries, particularly part of Asia, skin whitening creams are very popular and provide huge profits for the companies involved in their sale.

The major reason behind people using skin whitening cream, is the projection that fair skin people are more beautiful. May be this is because of the ancient history, people who were rich stayed indoors as compared to the poor, who worked outside. As a result, the rich became fair while the poor often were dark skin. As a result, now fair color is being taken as associated with high status. The next reason behind this is the desire for the ‘western look’. It could be attributed to the fact that they have been ruled by Westerners for a long time and now  they want to be like them.

However, despite the fact that having whiter skin may improve a person’s self-esteem, these products can have negative effects. With regards to health, it is believed that these products tend to harm the skin permanently.For instance, some contain steroids or toxins which can severely damage the skin and other parts of the body. In terms of society, there are also detrimental effects.

Overall, people are using white creams to make themselves better, this has resulted in a belief that white is better than black. This tends to have  dangerous consequences for people’s future health and society as a whole.

Importance Of Time # IELTS Speaking

TIME

Time is valuable and if you want to achieve something, you need to take care of it. So, today, let us have a look at some of the possible questions and answers related to importance of time.

Are you good at managing time?

I am not one of those who make a plan and work accordingly, setting the time and all. But for me, I decide the amount of work that needs to be done on particular day, without any particular order, and work accordingly. So, if you say managing time, I am average in it, because something things go here and there, but either ways, I make sure that the last product is good.

How do you manage your time?

Well, I manage my time by not thinking about time. I focus on the amount of work done and more importantly on its quality. For some reasons, the time gets managed accordingly. Focusing on what needs to be done at this point of time, helps a lot. To keep a note of the work, I maintain a diary that is almost next to me when I am on work.

When is it most important for you to manage time?

Always. It is not just about work or family, it is about life. So, one cannot be like give the entire time to work and also the vice versa. One has to juggle between the two and make sure that I am giving enough time to both. Also, there are priorities in both, so for me I need to take into consideration, both aspects of my life.
