Sample Answer

Level IELTS Band9 There are numerous national and international companies in my country. Today, I’m going to talk about an organization I would like to be a part of. The name of the organization is the Indian Space Research Organization, commonly known as the ISRO. It is the space agency of the government of India headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was founded by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai in 1969. The ISRO has many centers which are located in different regions of India. I have a keen interest in celestial objects like stars, galaxies and black holes. My father’s close friend is a scientist in the ISRO. I have learnt a lot about the projects of this organization from him. In addition, I had the opportunity to visit the ISRO Satellite Center on a school trip. Over the last 47 years, the ISRO has emerged as one of the six largest space agencies in the world. It develops and delivers services in various fields. Communication, weather forecast, disaster management tools, geographic information systems, navigation, telemedicine and distant education satellites are some of them. Its mission of using space research for the development of the nation has always inspired me to become a scientist.

A person who took a decision for you

Sample answer

Decisions are an integral part of everyone’s life. Sometimes we rely on others for making a decision. Today, I’m going to talk about one such time.

I’m a final year student of Bachelor of Technology at Delhi University. Thanks to its outstanding teaching methods, my university has an excellent reputation among employers. Every year many renowned companies conduct campus interviews in the University for recruiting fresh graduates. Right from their freshman year, students look forward to these interviews and being placed in their dream jobs.

In last month’s campus interviews, I did really well. I was hoping to be selected by at least one company. To my surprise, I received two offer letters, one from Wipro, an Indian IT Company and the other from Siemens, a German Company. I was puzzled. I didn’t know what to do. So, I decided to discuss the matter with my dad. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the real employment world of information technology.

We had a long healthy discussion. He explained the pros and cons of working in Indian and foreign organizations. In the end, he suggested me to join Siemens. In a way, he took this decision for me, but I wouldn’t say that he forced me to accept his judgement. It was my firm faith in his ability and vision which inspired me to follow his words.

IELTS Cue Card Sample Questions # Healthy Lifestyle IELTS Band 7 Dehradun

SAMPLE ANSWER

I am a not fitness freak and having failed to be consistent in the gym, I have finally restored my health by jogging every day. Every morning, I along with my friends go out on a 5 km jog in the city. We usually start with my house and then move forward towards the city centre and jog in the cantonment area for the most part. It is around 5 am that we start and I am back home by 6:30. This includes jogging and some chit chatting along the way. Also, sometimes we go out for breakfast together, in that case, we land up around 8 back home.

It has been one month since we started it and initially, we were two friends going together but now one more has joined us as well. I really like the jogging part when compared to the gym, because when jogging we are more close to nature and in so many ways get to know the city. There have been areas that we have found out together and it is amazing. Not only it helps in being fit physically but also mentally. There have been times when we have shared our sorrows together and the feeling is really beautiful.

Jogging is always a better option, I believe, because it increases your stamina and jogging in the morning helps you to clear your mind better when compared to other. Also, this is something one can do without much of restraint.

IELTS Speaking # Describe someone who learned a foreign language?

IELTS Speaking Task Cue Card

Describe someone who learned a foreign language?

  • Who this person is?
  • Which language did he/she learn?
  • How did he/she learn it?

And explain what you think about this language and its benefits.

Sample Answer

In this swiftly advancing time, being bilingual or multilingual has become mandatory. Someone who just knows their mother tongue faces a lot of challenges mainly in their professional lives. This cue card topic brings to my mind a colleague who learned French in order to get better placement opportunities abroad. I remember making fun of him for joining an Institute to learn a foreign language. It was later when a job preferred candidates who were multilingual that I realized the significance of learning a second language.

Apart from English, French is a widely used language for international communication. My friend, Saumya received an offer letter of a multinational company in Canada and learning French proved an asset for her career.

Learning a new language enriches the mind and helps us interact with foreign natives, both personally and professionally. Recently at a wedding ceremony, I met Saumya and she told me about her professional achievements after learning a foreign language. I was surprised to look at her talking over the phone so fluently in French to her work colleagues back in Canada. She even told me about her plan to learn Spanish in the near future.

From my point of view, being multilingual is really beneficial when it comes to our future. Taking Saumya’s example, she got the opportunity to travel across the world and attend international conferences mainly because of her command over a second language. I personally admire the French people mainly for eloquence with which they speak, the sophistication with which they carry themselves and a sense of nobility that they possess. Being an internationally recognized language, French has numerous advantages. More importantly, not only French but learning any second language will always be fruitful.

DIFFICULT WORDS-

  • Bilingual– speaking two languages fluently
  • Multilingual– able to use several languages especially with equal fluency.
  • Eloquence– fluent or persuasive speaking or writing
  • Asset– a useful or valuable thing or person
