Lost Luggage # Letter For IELTS

You travelled by plane last week and your luggage was lost. You have still heard nothing from the airline company.
Write to the airline explaining what happened. Describe your luggage and tell them what was in it. Find out what are they going to do about it.
You should write at least 150 words.
Begin your letter as dear sir/madam.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by your airline company, during my last travel about two weeks ago, from India to Bahamas. Although the flight was fine, my luggage got lost on my arrival.
I took a two way flight from India to Bahamas, from your airlines on 15th of this month. I had no issues reaching Bahamas and the luggage was given to me on time. After completing my three day visit there, I returned to India on 18th of this month. Although the services provided were fantastic during the flight, I was surprised to have found that my luggage is missing.
I was carrying a blue bag and a suitcase. The bag had my laptop and other important official documents which I had to submit at my office on reaching. The suitcase, had my clothes, hard disk, and other random things. Although the clothes are not important, but the hard disk is very important for me.
When I contacted your representative, they told me that it must have got left out while picking luggage from Bahamas and it will be returned back to me within a week. I was a bit hazy but they provided me the assurance that within a week they shall call me and return me back the suitcase.
Naturally, I waited for the call, but after ten days, I was bound to return to the airlines. On reaching there, I was told that they have not received any such complaint and hence, no action was taken place. I then asked them to call the person who assured me ten days back. Imagine my feelings when I learned from him that there has been no action taken since they were busy with other important customers. When I tried to contact you by phone, no one could offer me any sensible answer. As a solution he offered that I wait for another one month, before I receive the luggage.
I am very disappointed with your airlines and expect that my luggage be returned as soon as possible.

Write a letter to your supplier, to let him know that you won’t need the merchandise you have ordered. Explain what your situation and suggest a solution.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to apologize for cancelling the order that I have made on 24 October 2015 of 50 cartons of soya bean oil.
I have found myself in this unpleasant situation for a reason. My shop was recently robbed. Most of the items including cosmetics, bakery, and stationary was completely taken away leaving behind only oils and other random items. To add insult to my misery, the customers have now stopped coming to the shop for the mere reason that items here were stolen and they do not want to land themselves into any legal issues. The hassles of police and courts have left me emaciated and I have reached to a point of almost bankruptcy.

Owing to my current situation I think the next logical step would be to first figure out a new way of business or create a new better image for my shop. I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope that you can settle this issue by cancelling the order.

You are planning to spend a two-week holiday in an English-speaking country where you have a friend. You need some advice about travelling there. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:

  • explain why you have decided to visit that country and give some details of your trip.

Most of them have asked me to write about Australia and its restaurants and beaches and the people and its culture. So, I am planning to visit Australia for a month.

You have been living in Australia for now about 6 years and I hope that you will have good knowledge about the country. I tried to check about Australia on internet, but I realised the information you can share, I cannot get it online. I would like to know which month would be the best time to visit Australia, what are the different festivals they celebrate and which are the ones that must not be missed. During what time, can I find Australia in its uttermost beauty and what are some of the must do things and must go places in Australia?

Your city has some of the world’s best photography colleges. However, when I searched on internet regarding the differences between them, I could not find any specific details distinguishing them. Rather than solving any issue, the search left me more tangled up. You have been living in the city for now 6 years and I hope that you will have a better opinion about the various universities. I would be really thankful if you could just tell me the best of the universities and what separates them from each other.

I hope you would not mind doing this for me. I am looking forward to hearing from you and making some more beautiful memories together.
