You recently spent a vacation at the home of some friend who lives in a different city. Write a letter to your friend and thank them for letting you stay with them. Describe some things you enjoyed about your vacation and invite him/her to come over at your place.

Sample Answer

Dear Rihanna,
It was lovely meeting you after so many years and you haven’t changed a bit in all this time. Thanks for inviting me to your house. I enjoyed my stay and let me tell you, your house is a beautiful place to be at.
I had been thinking of visiting you for a long time but busy schedule and work made it all so difficult. When you called me up last week, I knew this was my chance and I didn’t think twice before packing my bags and leaving. The fact that it was a bank holiday weekend put icing on the cake.
Your city is vibrant and it’s filled with great museums. You know how much I love art so thanks for taking me to the world class museums in your city. The souvenir of Big Ben that you bought for me deserves a special mention. The comedy show was pretty funny and I wish I had got a chance to heckle at the comic myself. The taste of that delicious homemade stew is still present in my mouth and I can’t wait to try your mother’s recipe myself.
There is a carnival coming up next month so why don’t you plan something then? You took good care of me and it’s my turn to do the honours. (219 Words)

Dear Mrs Winfrey,
I hope you are well and in good health. Last week itself we were having a conversation about me going on a holiday and that you’ll take care of my house while I am away. It shouldn’t surprise you that I am off for a 2 week vacation starting next Monday and it’s my humble request to you to keep your promise.
My wife has been nagging a lot recently as we haven’t had a vacation for years. We came across a good deal on the internet and decided to go ahead with the plan. We’ll be off to Europe and then from there to Africa for the Nile cruise as visiting these places was on top of my bucket list.
The dogs will be with the in-laws so you need not worry about them. We are due an electrician visit next Tuesday at 3:00 as there is a fault with the circuits and I’ve given him your phone number so he’ll contact you directly. The gardener comes in twice every week and he’ll knock on your door for the keys. I’ve informed the bin man to collect the rubbish but just in case if he doesn’t please remind him. Lastly I’m due a parcel delivery for Thursday so please collect it on my behalf.
I know you’ll take good care of the house while we are away. Me and Neha can’t thank you enough for your help and if you have any issues please feel free to contact me. (253 Words)

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter in regards to a Smartphone that I bought from your retail outlet based in west Delhi.
The purchase was made on 13/09/2018 and I was given a bill and warranty card along with the phone. The very next day the screen went blurry and the phone switched off completely. As I spent a huge amount of money on this phone I did not feel like taking any risks and took it back to the store immediately. The technician was not present at that time and I was asked to drop the phone and follow up later.
The reference number for my complaint is B57921 and rather than being informed about the phone, I had to visit the store myself after 5 days to find what’s wrong with it. The services I was offered were quite poor and the technician present there was not able to give a clear explanation about the phone’s faults. They managed to temporarily fix and it broke again the following day. I am not very sure if I want the same phone again. For a company of your size, the services are quite poor and the quality of the handset is not up to the mark.
Can you please issue me a refund for the full amount as I am very disappointed with the services provided by your company.

There have been several complaints about the reception area where visitors to your company arrive. Your manager has asked you to suggest how the reception area could be improved.
Write a letter to your manager describing the complaints that you have received and suggestions to improve the service.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing you this letter in regards to the numerous complaints that we have received in relation to the reception area.
Most of the clients are not happy with the general cleanliness of the common area. The feedback forms filled by quite a few clients suggest that they were disappointed with the unpleasant behaviour of my colleague, Charlie. The waiting times have also risen drastically due to one of the check in counters not working and even though we tried to fix the faulty computer a few weeks ago all the effort went down in vain.
Our common areas get cleaned every 6 hours and I would suggest you to bring this down to every 3 hours. Charlie has had several personal issues recently and maybe you can approve his pending holidays so he can have some time off. We need a new computer as soon as possible and if you may please also order me a new mouse as the one for my computer is not very responsive.
Some of these matter require your urgent attention so please if you may sort these problems out as soon as possible.
