Sample Answer :

It’s a common gesture of appreciation that one receives on doing something good and worthy. We get appreciations for the good things we do for others or for our great achievements or personal excellence. One similar occasion when I was congratulated was when my debate team won the district/ county level championship.
It was 2012 and I was in my 10^th grade. I was an influential member of my school debate team and had participated in a lot of different solo and team debate competitions. The yearly inter-school division/ county level championship was considered to be the most amazing and prestigious tournament and the in those days the finals was broadcasted on local TV channels as well as on the radio and on the internet.
Our school had a very bad past history as it was not able to win the championship before 2012. They had their last victory in the 90’s and everyone was waiting to hear the winning bells again. Though some of the debate teams participated till the semi-finals of the championship but never made it to the finale.
That year I was heading the debate team and to everyone’s great astonishment, we won the finals. Most of the people of our city watched the finals on TV and were super excited, happy and proud to see me on air and it was an added attraction that we won.
The school arranged an assembly specifically to congratulate us for our achievement and I found more than five hundred students, their guardians and local people who were eagerly waiting for us and were present there to join us in this victory. I was so proud about the whole team and excited about the occasion and when all those people started congratulating me, I felt like I was flying above the sky and my happiness knew no leaps and bounds.
Later I received many congratulations and appreciations as I grew up in my life but none of them mattered as that one occasion. We walked through the gushing crowd towards the stage of the auditorium and people stood up, greeted us and clapped their hands. Lot of teachers, local political leaders, upper-level government employees and renowned personalities were also present there. The ceremony went on for almost 3 hours and we got many gifts and bouquets as well. Ill always remember that moment.(395 Words)

Ans In India, generally movie stars, politicians and business tycoons are the most popular and successful people. Influential people who make social and environmental changes are also considered successful.

Q2. Is the definition of success the same today as it was in the past ?
Ans Success has different meaning to different people. People in the past considered success to be more about respect and dignity and paid more focus on the idea of getting known. The idea of popularity still remains the same but today people evaluate success in terms of money and material possessions acquired.

Q3. Why are some celebrities and movie stars more successful then others ?
Ans Some celebrities are famous because the generation today is bias and they prefer knowing or watching only those certain celebrities who are more popular and they don’t really prefer quality. They just go with the brand name and they prefer to stick with the passive crowd and go along with fan following.

Dear Rosy

I hope you are doing well. We could not meet ever since our summer vacations started. Moreover, I did not even get the time to write you. You can understand how it goes. As you know that I had put on a lot of weight over a period of time. So, I have recently joined some yoga classes to remain healthy and fit. Additionally, I am also learning French nowadays.

Since, we are unable to meet due to summer holidays, I have decided to organise a get-together party for all our classmates. Therefore, I am writing to invite you to the get-together party. The party is scheduled on the 2^nd Saturday of this month at the president hotel.

The theme of the party is ‘Going Green’. So, everyone has to wear green outfits for the party. The party will commence at 4p.m. and will be followed by some light snacks and soft drinks. Then all of us will play dumb charades and bingo. I believe the party will be wrapped up 10 p.m. Pick and drop facility will also be provided to everyone in order to avoid inconvenience to the parents.

I insist you to kindly attend the party. Convey my regards to your parents.

Simple future tense refers to a time later than now. It is used to express facts or things that we cannot control. In this case, there is no “attitude”.
It is used in the following ways –

To express future as a fact.

EXAMPLE –

- It will be Rakshabandhan next week.
- The results will be declared in an hour.

I will be achieve success on my own terms.

To express things we believe will happen

EXAMPLE –

I think India will win the match.
In my opinion, the youth will surely fight back terrorism.
I am sure I can do it and I will.

With I or we, to express an immediate decision.

EXAMPLE –

I will pay the bill.
We will be heading to north now.
I will be coming.

The going to form (be going to +base of the verb) is used when we have decided to do something before talking about it.

EXAMPLE –

I am going to resign this job very soon.
I am going to buy a new car.
I am going get that pen.

Going to form is often also used to describe something that we think is certain or bound to happen.

EXAMPLE –

It is going to happen.
They are going to come.
She is going to have a baby.

It is used to express willingness to do something.

EXAMPLE –

I will help you.
He will carry the bag for you.

Used with shall to make an offer.

EXAMPLE –

Shall I help you?
Shall I open the window?

Used with will to make orders.

EXAMPLE –

You will do as I say
You will be coming tomorrow.

Used with will to give invitations

EXAMPLE –

Will you come to the party?
Will you be able to come to the park?

NOTE- In modern English will is preferred to shall. Shall is mainly used with I and we to make an offer or suggestion, or to ask for advice. With the other persons (you, he, she, they) shall is only used in literary or poetic situations.

During my stay in London, I went out with my friends to the city of Bath. Bath is a city in the county of Somerset, England. It is 97 miles (156 km) west of London.
I had always read about the city and its hot water springs, which was discovered in 836 BC by the British king Bladud. The city is famous for Roman Bath, a well preserved Roman site for public bathing, which was built in c AD 60 and for its Georgian architecture….. Royal Crescent, Circus, Pump Room and Assembly Room. Around the 18th century the city became fashion capital of England. Jane Austen the famous English novelist lived there in the early 19th century.
On our first day, we went around the city on foot saw the Royal Crescent, Victoria Garden The Circus, Bath Abbey, went to the Saracens Head a local pub (where Charles Dicken reputedly lived) had a few Guinness talked to the locals, went to Club XL. The following day, we saw the museum, the Pump House and tour the guided bus tour of the city of bath and the spectacular skyline tour and then around the evening we saw the rugby match between the teams of Bath and Bristol.
I really liked the city for its history, which was largely influenced by Roman’s, hot springs, Georgian architecture, natural beauty and for its stint with Jane Austin and Charles Dickens. (236 Words.)
