Motivation and encouragement are two key factors for success. They can boost one’s morale and self-esteem. I have been encouraged by my near and dear ones whenever I undertake a new task or responsibility. One such memorable incident was when I had to appear for a job interview after clearing my graduate degree. As it was my first job interview, I was highly nervous and scared of possible rejection. While getting ready in the morning my mother noticed me sweating and called me to sit down and talk to the elders of the family. They sat down with me and spoke to me about my preparation for the interview.

I listened to everyone with enthusiasm as they told me their interview experiences. They started telling me ways to be confident and be sure of myself. I was told that I had many good qualities and skill sets that were important for the job. Such kind words motivated me and I could definitely feel the exciting surge of adrenaline rushing through my nerves. They all gave me positive thoughts and urged me to go for the interview with their encouraging statements.

I then went ahead for the interview and after half an hour of a test and tough questions, I was cleared for the position. I felt the change of my state from being nervous to feeling confident due to the encouragement that my family gave me. I went back home and thanked everyone with the wonderful news of my selection. Since then, I always go and talk to them whenever I feel the need for their supporting words.

Sports and fitness activities play an important role in everyone’s lives. Apart from keeping a person fit and healthy, one can also excel at these to gain name and fame. All of us follow sportsmen and athletes that play different sports, and we also have personal favorites among them.

I also follow a sportsperson whom I admire and respect the most. He is Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, a very well-known and esteemed ex-cricketer of the Indian national team. He is considered to be a living legend and one of the greatest batsmen of all times. He is the only player who has scored a hundred centuries in his international playing career.

Known as the little master, he started his international cricket career at the age of 16. He surprised everyone by scoring his first century in a test match against Pakistan when not many people knew about the talent he possessed. After that, he did not stop and made many records. He has since then received many awards and accolades not only for his exceptional playing capabilities but also for his good conduct on and off the playing field. Moreover, He has received the Arjuna Award, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the Padma Shri, and the Padma Vibhushan Award.

A very simple, down to earth person, he is also very kind hearted and honest. He has played cricket in all three formats namely test matches, one-day matches, and twenty over matches. He has recently retired from his cricketing career and is now appointed as a Member of Parliament. I admire his patience, dedication, and constant aspiration to improve as an individual. He has always played with the utmost spirit of sportsmanship and I respect him for it.
