IELTS CUE CARD # DECISION THAT YOU MADE, IELTSBAND7 DEHRADUN

SAMPLE ANSWER

Life is nothing but a sum total of all the decisions that we take, the priorities we made. Few years back I had to make a decision, to either take up a job in a reputed company or the one which although pays more is not a very reputed one! For a long time I pondered over the thought and finally decided to go for the company that was paying more.

My goals in life were different from the ones going to the reputed company and there were loans that I had to pay and so I decided to opt for the lesser reputed company. It turned out to be actually the best decision of my life. I was able to pay back my loans faster than many other friends of mine and go for further education. While taking the decision, I had asked my father for advice.

He told me to write down the pros and cons of both the sides and then go for the ones with more pros and less of cons and then stand by it. On doing so, I did ended up making a decision and have not regret it even for a minute of my life. It was the most important decision of my life because it helped me in furthering my future than most of my friends faster.

Describe a subject you enjoyed studying at school.

You should say:

  • When and where you started studying it
  • What lessons were like
  • What made the subject different from other subjects
  • And explain why you enjoyed the subject

IELTS CUE CARD # DESCRIBE A SUBJECT YOU ENJOYED STUDYING AT SCHOOL

Sample Answer

Economics has been one of my favourite subjects since I was at school and was first introduced to this subject when I was in the 8th Standard. I was lucky enough to have the best teacher who taught me economics as she always had a manner of make it interesting. She never taught it like a normal subject but made it exciting by relating it to current situations and gave examples to explain the theory.
I had never thought that economics could be so interesting and invigorating and that is how the lessons used to be in school. We always had interactive classes where we were not only supposed to listen to the teacher but also put up questions and discuss them at length. No other subject was like this one as the others were more theoretical and based on certain principles. But economics was and still is a subject where one has to think out of the box and relate it to what happens in our day to day lives and all around us.
One thing I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed the subject in my school and have pursued the same after completing my secondary education because of the practical essence and relevance this subject has in real life.

IELTS CUE CARD: STATE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

IELTS CUE CARD: STATE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

IELTS CUE CARD: STATE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT. You should say:

  • What are different types of public transport systems
  • What is the benefit of public transport
  • How to maintain public transportation vehicles
  • Explain what you feel about their usage in your country
IELTS CUE CARD: STATE OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT, IELTS BAND7 DEHRADUN
Sample Answer

Public transport is one of the most economical and easily accessible modes of reaching different places in our country. These are available in various forms like Metro Trains, buses, EMU trains and government approved taxi services. These transport systems are the best via media to commute in today’s fast moving world. Due to its nominal rates even a common man is able to move without burning his pocket. Government promotes public transport as it not only helps to reduce heavy traffic, but also helps to keep pollution under control.
Though public transport is of great assistance but it is disheartening to see the state of the vehicles especially the buses and the EMUs. It is the responsibility of the citizens to help the authorities to keep these transport facilities clean and hygienic. Most of us do not respect the law and make these vehicles dirty which reflect our society in a very negative way.
Like in Metro Trains, there should be strict laws so as to impose heavy fines if someone is found littering and spoiling public transport .Media should also be made responsible to create awareness and more and more people should be educated to respect this wonderful facility provided by the Government.

Innovation IELTS band7

SAMPLE ANSWER

Every big invention always touches upon human lives and brings about changes. Be it, personal computers, wheels, electricity, aeroplane, the history is filled with the stories of great inventions. I would like to talk about the printing press. German Johannes Guttenberg invented it in the fifteenth century. The printing press uses a mechanised way of transferring ink to the movable type. This movable type process exponentially increases the speed of printing books.

It ultimately led to the rapid and widespread dissemination of knowledge for the first time in human history. Bible was the first book to be published using the Guttenberg printing press. It was the mass production of Bible, that actually led a lot of interpretations about it. For the first time in history, a scientist could easily convey their inventions, leading to a scientific revolution. Also, the literacy rate in adults increased leading to a more knowledgeable society in large. Students began to learn better and grasp concepts better than others.

Some people believe that it was the printing press that actually led to the industrial revolution, the rise of nationalism and much more! It actually did change the way people lived.
