Books are tomes of knowledge that give every reader perspective. I am an avid reader and quite fond of reading books based on subjects such as religion, fiction, history, science, and motivation. Talking about a title that has influenced me, it would be the book “The Power of Subconscious Mind” which is written by Dr. Joseph Murphy.

My friend recommended the book to me after reading it himself, and I decided to read it. I purchased it from a book retail shop near my home. It was only when I started reading it, that I realized the real meaning of conscious and subconscious mind and how it works. It is categorized as a spiritual self-help book and has had a profound impact on my thoughts and changed my life in a positive manner.

Based on the law of attraction ideology of the writer, it is all about different stages of the human mind. A very interactive read, this book has many short stories based on real-life incidents as examples which portray that with the help of one’s subconscious mind they can get anything they want.

Moreover, it illustrates through stories the immeasurable power of the human will and how to make it work in our favour. This book has influenced me a lot in various ways. I have become more confident and sure of myself. It has taught me in the best way how to tackle tough situations with positivity. I have now decided to live my life with a stronger will by trying to exude the power of my subconscious mind. In my opinion, this book is a miracle and everyone should gain from its idea.

We all purchase new things for various purposes every now and then. In my family, my parents do most of the shopping ranging from grocery to expensive items. I also buy different things as per my interest and I have recently bought a microwave for my home from my savings. It is a piece of electronic equipment for kitchen purposes.

Last Sunday, I was roaming around in a shopping complex nearby my home, when I saw a pamphlet advertising a heavy discount on many electronic products such as televisions, refrigerators and microwave ovens in a shop on the second floor of the complex. I decided to have a look at the products they had to offer. I went inside the shop and found many products being sold at amazing deals, but I decided to buy a microwave. It was available at a thirty percent discount bringing it within my budget. I was happy as I thought about its usage and practicality in my home.

After some thinking and being satisfied with the product, I purchased it and took it home as a surprise. Everyone in my family was pleased as they could use it to reheat food or snacks or make coffee or tea at any time in a hassle-free manner. My mother was especially elated as it would help her to make hot and fresh food without fretting in the kitchen for long periods of time. I was happy that I had purchased this microwave for my household and that it would be useful for everyone.

We often go to various places to avail different kinds of services for many purposes. I have been to many places with varying standards of services such as car garages, hotels, and offices. One such incident where I received poor quality of service was when I went to an upscale restaurant near my locality.

I went there with my team consisting of ten colleagues on the previous Saturday afternoon. We were there for a team lunch after a successful meeting. We were greeted, welcomed through the grand entrance and seated. The place was full and quite busy. It took almost fifteen minutes for the server to bring water to our table and present the menu. I felt bad but did not make any issue about it. All of us chose our preferences and gave our orders for the food. After discussing work issues for more than half an hour we realized that the servers did not bring our orders. I was annoyed and went to complain about the poor service to the manager.

He apologized profusely and went ahead to expedite our order. We finally received our food and had started eating it when two of my colleagues found strands of here in their soup and pieces of bread. This was the last straw and we all got up and left the place without complaining. I later sent a mail to the administration and received an invite to a meal for all of us again along write a sincere apology and promiser of the best service.

Photos are the best way to capture important moments in our lives. I have garnered a collection of many interesting photographs over the course of my life. These have been clicked in different places with different people, and mean a lot to me. The most special photograph in my collection is a picture of my family.

I distinctly remember the time it was taken. I live in a nuclear family and it is very rare to have a family get together as my father’s siblings and parents live far away in other cities. It was taken in May 2008 when my family had gathered for my cousin sister’s marriage. We all had come to Delhi at my grandfather’s place for the wedding and had a very good time. We were getting late for the reception ceremony on the last day, and after the morning chaos had died down and the family elders had fussed about small issues, we were ready to leave. My grandfather’s neighbor was a very cheerful person and jovially offered everyone to gather around for a family photograph. We all complied and the picture was successfully clicked after everyone settled down.

It is very special to me as it was the last photograph of my complete family. A few months after the wedding, my grandfather passed away, and my cousin brother left for his further studies abroad. Hence, May 2008 was the last time that we witnessed the complete family happy in togetherness, making the photograph a witness to that beautiful memory.
