Describe a friend you like to spend time with.

Why you like to spend time with this particular friend?

Answer:

The friend I like to spend time with is Vipula. We met six years back, when we were in our senior school. She was a biology major, and I was doing my major in maths. But we did have our other classes, i.e., English, physics, and chemistry, together. We met, by accident, I would say. We had common routes and we shared the same school bus.

In the beginning I didn’t like her much, and our friendship had quite a weird beginning. I remember I lost my Parker pen, and it was very dear to me, and I saw the same pen with her, and I thought she had stolen my pen. I just went to her seat, took the pen and then told people that she stole my pen. I remember everyone started disliking her, talking less to her. But, some days later, I realised that it was actually her pen only and my pen was with my brother. I returned her pen and then told everyone the story and apologised for her.

I think things started becoming normal, and people started talking with her, and we started chatting because we had the same bus route. Within a month we were good friends, and we stopped interacting much with others.
We have been friends since then, and she is doing her MBBS now. Because of our busy schedule we don’t often see each other, but we take our time and meet every month.

She is a fantastic person, I would say. The best thing that I like about her is that no matter what problem the world throws at her, she is able to handle it with a smiling face. Rarely would you find her cribbing about her problems. The reason I spend so much time with her is that she makes life beautiful and without any problems.

Last month I had gone to my maternal uncle’s wedding. I met a lot of relatives and cousins there after a long time and had fun with them, but I clearly remember when I met two of my aunts there with whom I had a conversation that I was not interested in. My aunts were talking about what the right age for girls to get married and trying to convince me and my cousin to get married soon. They were trying to give us all sorts of advice and also suggested few boys that would be suitable for us to marry. Our marriage was the centre of their discussion. They told us that girls should get married to successful men right after their graduation or even before if they get a perfect match. These aunts even told us that if we cross 25 years of age, there would be a question about our character and we would not find a perfect mate for ourselves. According to them we can be happy only after marriage.
I was definitely not interested in this conversation because the trend is changing now. In today’s world marriage is not the only milestone in an individual’s life, marriages can be delayed. Career is more prominent to survive in this world irrespective of genders. Even women have right to be educated and successful before they tie a nuptial knot. I was in fact disheartened by their concept about marriage even at this point of time when people have started scrutinising this old norm of getting married early. I believe there is no right age to get married until the person is physically and mentally ready to take the responsibilities hence, I felt this conversation was monotonous.

Follow-up Questions:

Q. How do you know if others are not interested in the conversation?

Answer: When people are not interested in a conversation, it reflects on their facial expressions and body language. They seem to be bored and sleepy, sometimes they can be yawning. If they are not interested then they would not respond much and conversation would be less interactive and more of one sided.

Q. Do you think it is important to have a good sense of humour?

Answer: Yes, a good sense of humour is essential as it makes the conversation more interesting, it forms a good image and the person seems amiable. A sense of humour always helps in building good relationships with people irrespective of their variance.

Concerned, I immediately contacted customer support. The response was delayed, and when it finally came, it lacked a proper solution. This began a frustrating cycle of back-and-forth emails, each response taking longer than the last.

Eventually, after several days of trying to resolve the issue, I decided to call customer support. This turned out to be a tedious process, as I had to navigate through various automated options before finally reaching a human representative. They acknowledged the mistake and assured me that the correct laptop would be shipped.

Despite the inconvenience, the situation highlighted the importance of thorough checking and timely customer support. It also underscored the challenges of online shopping, where mistakes can happen due to technical glitches or miscommunication. The experience taught me to keep a record of all interactions and to be persistent when resolving such issues.

In the end, the correct laptop did arrive, and I appreciated the device, but the ordeal left me more cautious when making online purchases and wary of potential mishaps.
