• Why does it take place?
• And explain how people celebrate it

ANSWER:

Well, I think that special events play an important role in every individual’s life, as celebrations promote togetherness and spread positivity. There are many festivals that are celebrated in my country, such as Holi, Diwali, Eid and much more.
One festival that I would like to talk about is Dussehra. This festival is celebrated in the month of October every year. There is an interesting story behind this festival. Basically, according to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram killed a monster named Raavan, who kidnapped Lord Ram’s wife, Sita. So, on this auspicious occasion, people celebrate the victory of good over evil.
On Dussehra, people spend time with their families and friends. In the morning, families pray to the gods and also offer them sweets and flowers. Other than this, delicious food is cooked at home. The most surprising part for those who might not be familiar with this festival is that, in the evening, most people build huge effigies of the monster Raavan and burn it in the evening to show the destruction of evil. The celebration is quite loud because as the effigy of the monster Raavan burns, firecrackers shoot into the sky. This whole event makes the celebration very exciting. In many societies there is a complete theatrical drama of the whole story on a stage.
Overall, I absolutely enjoy every second of this occasion every year. This festival is not only the way to spread joy but also to spread awareness that good deeds will always result in sweet fruits.
