Describe a person who is good at making people feel welcome in his/her home.

Answer:

Well, precision is the key, and some people are watchmakers who are actually adjusting every gear, ensuring that every aspect of their life is perfect. I have seen many people in my life who like to maintain their home and welcome guests. The first name that pops up in my mind is my mother; I have known her since my childhood. She is a meticulous person, and she always takes care of everything in my house.

Whenever guests visit our place, my mother not only cleans our home but also prepares delicious food for them. She also gives them a warm welcome, as she believes that welcoming guests with open arms reflects our tradition and values. After that, she offers a variety of homemade snacks of their choice. If she finds the guests uncomfortable, while communicating, my mother wisely makes them comfortable by cracking jokes. She is a great icebreaker in my family. She can easily initiate conversation with others. Sometimes she entertains them by taking them to different places in my city, like shopping malls, temples and cinema halls. Basically, she ensures that everyone has dinner and sleeps comfortably. She never lets anyone without having breakfast. As a whole, I feel that she is a great host.

She inspires me to be a warm welcomer, as she has rooted the same tradition and cultural values in me that she has learned from her mother. Hospitality is not just a social custom and ritual for her, but it’s a mirror of our cultural identity and respect, which allows me to treat our guests as a part of family.
