ANSWER:

Well, I believe that having conversations with people around us gives us knowledge about topics that we might not be aware of. It also encourages creativity through which we brainstorm and think of new ideas and gain new perspectives.

I’d like to talk about an interesting conversation I had with one of my friends, Meenu. This happened a week ago when she came to my house to spend time with me. I vividly remember it was a long talk about feminism. Feminism basically means equality between both men and women. My friend and I were discussing how more and more people need to change their point of view about gender roles which have been nurtured into them due to our patriarchal society. It is often expected from women to handle household chores and cook for the family, whereas from men it is expected that they earn and fulfil the financial needs of the family members. Other than this, men are usually told not to cry and suppress their emotions, but at the same time anger is socially permissible for them, and crying is considered normal for females. I and Meenu both agreed that these stereotypes need to change, as they force both men and women to fit into boxes created by society. We further conversed about how this can be solved, and we both saw eye to eye on this fact that it can drastically improve if women are provided proper education and given cerebral opportunities. For instance, women should be encouraged to take leadership roles and pursue their careers in technical fields, as data shows that more men often search for jobs in these roles.

Overall, it was a very intriguing conversation. It made me realise how having discussions and debates plays a crucial part in society. It helps in spreading awareness about different issues that go unnoticed.
