I live in India, a highly diverse country in terms of people, cultures, ethnicities, weather, and landscapes. India is a highly unique country in itself, due to the presence of such a huge variety of biodiversity and the human population. Every part of the country has different people with different ideologies, ways of living, dressing, food habits, cuisines, etc.

One such part of our country is Punjab, which also happens to be my native state. I find it the most interesting due to the people that live there. The native people here, also known as Punjabis, are very intriguing in terms of their lifestyles. Not only are they known for their extravagant lifestyles and loud behavior, but are also some of the kindest and jolly natured people around. They gel in well with other people, including strangers, and are good at holding light-hearted conversations. People there believe in the philosophy of “simple living, and high thinking”.  They are very helping in nature, and are ready to help someone in need at all times.

Basically known for its flourishing farming lands, Punjab has a rich cultural heritage that is not only reflected through the people but also through their architecture and the handicraft. Various cities in Punjab are known for innovative designs in terms of clothing, accessories, jewelry, and decoration items. There is a lot to see and feel in Punjab and even one small visit can give you beautiful lasting experiences. To sum it up, I would say that Punjab is a unique part of the country and adds to the overall beauty of the country in its own distinct ways.

There are a lot of places one can visit all over the world with many sights and attractions to offer, along with different features. Many landmarks have breathtaking beach views and much more. Personally, I prefer to visit locations near water. If a place has any kind of a water body, such as a lake, a pond, or a river, I would enjoy visiting the place and spending time over there.

Well, after visiting many beaches, riverfronts, lakes, and ponds all over India I got a chance to drive up to a lake in the Himalayan Mountains. I went there with three of my colleagues who are my good friends as well. We went there during last winters, in the month of November. About the lake, it is very famous and is named Deoria Taal. Situated in a densely forested area along with variegated wildlife, it is very quaint. We drove to the nearby village and trekked up the rest of the way to reach the lake. It was a huge water body with very clean water. There was a grassy area towards three sides of it and dense trees on one. The water was stagnant and beautifully reflected the high snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance.

We went there not only to visit but to experience the beauty of that place and draw some calmness from that deep water body. It was an enchanting sight with pleasing views all around. We decided to camp out on the grass for two days and then set up the camps. I loved the peace in the surroundings, the calmness that shrouded everything, and the feeling as if the time had stopped. This experience that Deoria Taal has given me would always be cherished.

Public transport is a medium of transport that is provided by a government or a private entity for the public. Highly convenient, reliable, and affordable as well, this medium of transport is a boon to millions of people worldwide. I also find it very beneficial and it has proven to be of great importance time and again.

With so many people traveling from home to work, city to city, or interstate as well, it is important for them in order to commute from one place to another.

I personally find it to be a great service, as well as a blessing whenever any urgent task has required me to travel without a personal vehicle. There have been various instances wherein my car or motorcycle was not working, and I had to reach my workplace, or when I had to travel to another distant city and I couldn’t travel by car. One such memorable incident took place when I was in college. My summer vacations were about to end, and I suddenly fell ill. I could not use my car to travel due to fatigue, so I decided to take a bus. Reaching college was very important, so I booked my tickets, and reached the bus station.

The bus started after a little while, and I sat down on my seat, looking out of the window. It was a very relaxed journey, as I did not have to drive, and I could eat snacks and read a book. I also had conversations with my fellow passengers, and got time to look out beautiful views from the window. Though I chose the bus travel as I was ill, but the amazing journey that I covered, changed my perspective on bus travels as well. If I get a chance to travel by bus again, I would definitely choose it again.

A time when you had to find some information.

  • When was this incident?
  • What was the information?
  • Why did you require it?
Sample Answer

The world has become a smaller place in today’s times, as the internet and technology have given people ease of access and brought them closer. From time to time we go to find out information from different sources such as books and the internet. I have also looked around through my resources in order to look for a variety of information.

One such incident took place when I was in the ninth standard. We were supposed to complete many summer project reports of different subject topics. Choosing to start with geography, I was supposed to write a project on all the mountain ranges of the world. My school course book proved inept at providing me with in-depth details and facts about the topic. Alternatively, I started to go through other books such as encyclopedias and detailed subject books. After collecting some information, I opened my computer to take more help from the internet.

I went through various websites that had blogs and articles about the mountain ranges and was satisfied to find all the information that I needed. After this work, I searched for their images as well, so that I could stick them on to my report as well. I then used all the gathered information to create a detailed report along with the corresponding pictures. The project was a highly challenging task to collect and compile such large information, but I enjoyed it very much, and also learned a lot of facts and figures. It was a great experience and I have followed it in my time of need since then.
