Speaking question 1: Do you like to travel?

Answer A: Yes! I enjoy travelling. As I am working in the area of sales, so, it’s a part of my job to travel quite frequently. I have to travel to many places in a short span of time. It not only makes me open-minded, but provides the privilege to explore new cultures and traditions.

Answer B: Being a businessman eventually makes me travel frequently to numerous places. Although it becomes hectic sometimes, but by and large I enjoy travelling and meeting my clients throughout the country and abroad.

Speaking question 2: What kind of places have you visited in your life?

Answer A: I have a keen interest in History. For this reason, I usually prefer to visit places which have historical significance. I have been to several places which retain a glorious ancient history and are important in enhancing the knowledge about our culture. I have visited the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Red Fort, Ajanta and Elora Caves and many more places.

Answer B: I am a working person. Therefore, I prefer to visit the places which elevate my mood and energize me. I have been to some of the most beautiful beaches and lakes in my country. These places bring me closer to nature and rejuvenate me.

Answer C: As I am a sales representative, my job provides many opportunities to travel to different places. But, all these places are related to my work and are business oriented. I have been to all metro-cities such as New Delhi, Chandigarh, Banglore and Mumbai.

Speaking question 3: Which place would you like to visit in the future? Why?
Answer: Well, there are many places which I really want to visit, but once-in-a-life time, I would like to visit Kerala. It is famous for its greenery, golden beaches and picturesque views. As an admirer of nature’s beauty, this place will be my first preference.

Speaking question 4: What’s the best place you have ever visited?
Answer A: Well, all the places I have visited are extremely beautiful and best of their kind. But, the Akshardham Temple in Delhi is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. One can’t stop praising the craftsmanship involved in the carving of stones.
Speaking question 5: Describe a place where you have recently been to.
Answer B: I have recently visited the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun, Uttrakahand. This is one of its own kind of research institute which not only provides world-class scientific training in forests and woods but serves as a tourist attraction as well. It is occupied with six museums and a training center for Indian Forest service officers. Many different varieties of plants and wood can be seen there.

IELTS Speaking Question 1: Have you ever been to a wedding?

Answer A: Yes! Being a social person, I love attending functions. I have been to many weddings of my relatives and close friends.

Answer B: Frankly speaking, I didn’t get the privilege to attend a wedding ceremony. Due to the hectic schedule of my job, I am not able to deliver certain responsibilities. So, my family attends functions on my behalf. But, in the future, I would surely like to be a part of a grand marriage ceremony.

 

IELTS Speaking question 2: What clothes do people wear?

Answer A: Well, the dressing style in marriage functions is very different from casual dressing. Both men and women prefer to wear ethnic outfits which are vibrant and colorful.

Answer B: I think wedding functions are not only joyful but they also provide the opportunity to dress up and show up the style. From formal suits to Sherwani, all love to dress up in a pure traditional way. Even small kids can be seen in ethnic costumes.

IELTS Speaking question 3: Describe the wedding ceremony?

Answer : A couple of weeks ago, I attended a wedding with my parents. That was a very simple wedding held at a famous Sikh temple in my hometown. The guests from both, bride as well as groom’s side, were there. A special lunch was organized for the guests in the temple. After lunch all guests assembled in the main hall where the holy book “Shri Gurugranth Sahib” was kept. The bride and groom, who were looking gorgeous, gently walked around the sacred book four times. All the guests congratulated the couple and posed for the photographs. All of us returned home after the ceremony.

IELTS Speaking question 4: What sort of gifts do people buy for the bridal couple?

Answer A: I have seen people buying gifts as a token of affection for the bridal couple. This is the best possible way to congratulate them for their auspicious future. Some people buy jewellery or clothes, some of them give paintings or honeymoon ticket to the newly-wed couple. People even buy electric appliances for the couple. The bride’s family may give a two- wheeler or four-wheeler vehicle to the couple or furniture is also a viable option.

IELTS Speaking question 5: What is the most common tradition of wedding in your country?

Answer A: Well, India being a land of diversity and home of many civilizations of numerous ethnic groups, has a fascinating assortment of cultural wedding traditions. There are Hindu marriages, Christian marriages, Muslim weddings and many more. In Hindu weddings, the most common tradition is that bride and groom gently walk around the sacred fire seven times. After that the couple promises to stay together in thick and thin.

Politeness is a kind of behavior shown by people. Often people who are polite tend to make more friends. Well, whatever, be the case, let us have a look at some of the questions related to politeness.

What according to you is politeness?

Speaking Answer: According to me, it is just a way of interacting with people. Some people tend to be polite, means they speak softly and are less likely to use harsh words for others. It is for some the way that people treat others ,the way they want themselves to be treated. I agree with it. It is also about saying please, thank you and sorry whenever required.

Who taught you to be polite when you were a child?

Speaking Answer: I think no one actually taught me. I learnt it by seeing people around me. My mother is very polite and she talks to people very nicely, no matter what the other person is saying I don’t remember her losing her patience. She once told me, that don’t raise your voice in an argument, but rather improve your point. I have kept these things in mind and have benefited a lot because of my politeness.

Why is it important to be polite to people?

Speaking Answer: I think because of two simple reasons: first most people tend to react the way you talk to them. SO, if you want others to be nice to you, you have to start it by yourself. Secondly: because we all are living busy lives and it feels good when people talk nicely to each other.

Do you think people have become less or more polite since the time you were a child?

Speaking Answer: I believe, people have become more of open minded, less formal and more bold in making statements. So, they tend to just say as it is. But, this does not necessarily mean that they don’t respect their parents or elders. I think the problem is that people are not able to express what they feel in a better way.

IELTS Speaking # Weather

IELTS Speaking Question 1: What’s the weather like in your country ?

Answer: In my view, the weather in my country(India) can be defined comprehensively by one word; Monsoon. It conveys the idea of rhythm of seasons which our exceptionally diverse land witnesses and monsoons are the reason behind this unification. India being in temperate belt zone shows the assortment in its weather. But northernmost and north-eastern part has almost cold weather whereas coastline area of country has uniformity of weather throughout the year. From December to February there is a lovely winter season, from March to July we experience hot summer, from August to October there is a rainy season and from late October to November we have autumn. And these four seasons are seen in a repetitive manner.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 2: Does the weather affect your mood?

Answer A) Yes! Weather does affect our mood. We experience drowsiness in winter and exasperation in high summers, whereas spring brings up positive alleviation in our mood. Even psychologists have proven that crime rate and psychological well being-ness are highly proportionate to the change in weather and crime rate shows a drastic decline in pleasant weather conditions.

Answer B) As far as my prospect is concerned, weather does not show significant changes in our mood, it’s the situation which plays the role in mood change. The scientific reason behind change in weather is the temperature and pressure belts of earth, which do not comply with the secretion of hormones which results into change in mood. So, it’s irrelevant to say that weather has an effect on our mood.

 

IELTS Speaking Question 3: How do rainy days make you feel?

Answers A) Well! Along with rain drops, rainy days bring ecstatic changes around us. We can enjoy variety of dishes sitting at home and seeing rain drops makes us feel blissful indeed. The precept outside elevates our mood. The tiny drops of water seem wrapping the happiness around them and more likely tend to be the lifeline for vegetation, along with sheer boon to draught prone areas and deserts.

Answers B) Frankly speaking, I feel slightly uneasy during rainy days. It’s muddiness all around the street and every class of society gets the day to day life affected due to mud and water gathered all around. Sometimes heavy rainfall halts the life and people don’t even have proper access to household commodities. From transportation to electricity everything has ceased to be stopped. In rainy season not only the quality of drinking water gets worse but also untimely rain affects our vegetation adversely. Many diseases like Malaria, Hepatitis and Diarrhea etc. also spread their tentacles during this weather.
