Sample Answer:

Many developing countries in the world today are facing the issue of professionals migrating to other developed countries in search of better employment opportunities. This essay will help reflect on the causes of the situation and suggest possible ways to deal with this problem.

There are many reasons that have led to this scenario. The first and foremost one is the lack of professional opportunity in poor countries. increasing number of new graduates places pressure on the job market, which makes job-searching a very major task. Another factor behind this problem is salary. The income is not at par with the dedication and effort one puts in a job. Further, the working environment does not cater to the needs of the intellectuals. For these reasons, competent individuals prefer to leave their motherland and shift outside the country.

Taking into consideration all the causes, measures to stop brain draining can be constructively structured. The labor market needs to be expanded to create more job opportunities. Furthermore, extra pay or promotions can also help retain the talent. Lastly, it is important to construct a professional working environment which can help the skilful employees to develop their own capability.

Hence, it is pretty clear that there are obvious reasons encouraging the brain capital flight in developing countries. However, I understand that if proper steps are implemented, we will be able to tackle the problem and help solve it for a better future.

Arts is a subject which is often considered the soul of an individual. From songs, movies, books to theatre, paintings, dance,  individuals find their form of expression in one or the other. Although few find their careers in an art form, there are many who continue to lead their routine lives. They choose to participate in arts to enhance their creativity and lead a better life. This has lead to a debate on whether arts should be given importance on central level for the upliftment of the society or governments across the world must focus on other spheres.

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Many governments in the world spend a large amount of money on arts which develop quality in people’s life. However, governments should spend money on other things rather than arts. Do you agree or disagree? Give your opinion.

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

[Paraphrasing]

Art in the form of literature, theatre, and visual arts represent the cultural heritage of the societies and improve the lifestyles of individuals. However, there has always been a clash of argument among people. Some assert that government should spend money on art while others focus on concerns like education, poverty.

[Body 1]

Most of the artists cannot survive without the help of financial aid but they play a pivotal role in the society. Art forms help in restoring the culture of the society and open space for inter-culture expression. For instance, Sudarshan Sahoo who masters the art of stone carving struggles in our country for the lack of people buying it. He recently stated that the art may die if much notice is not given to it.

[Body 2]

In addition, art brings a new perspective to life and often uplift a section of the society. For example, a movie on Mary Kom in India, allowed the country to know about her achievements and women across the country found a new support in following unorthodox careers. Also, patriotic songs often ignite in individuals the feeling of oneness and encourages them to be together in tough times.

[Conclusion]

Overall, societies in large continue to face existential issues but one cannot deny the importance of arts in our lives. Governments, therefore, must support the artist in bringing out the most creative expression of their minds to expand the horizons of the individuals.

IELTS Essay Sample Questions # Criminals

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Some prisoners commit crimes after they have been evicted from the prison. What do you think is the cause of it and how can it be solved?

Write at least 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

Criminal punishment, all over the world, has become more civil when compared with traditional methods however its behavior for reforms has been questioned regularly. Although the number of criminals who do not repeat their acts is high in numbers, there is the other half of the coin who find themselves in and out of the jail.

The logic of jail beholds that criminals are separated from the society so that they can introspect their actions. However, one cannot deny the influence the place has on individuals. Drug barons and mafias are infamous for recruiting during their jail tenure. So, a thief in their company ends up being a loyal member of the criminal force. Even more, society often jettison’s the criminals. As a result, offenders tend to repeat the crimes.

One solution could be to send the first time offenders to community service in places where they did the damage. For example, in my town petty crime is punished with terms such as street cleaning and rubbish collection. This instills in the individuals a sense of pride. In addition, they tend to get less time interacting with the criminal world making them less susceptible to do a crime. Secondly, people once imprisoned should be provided a job once they are out of jail. The lack of work is what leads people to repeat the hideous acts.

Overall, the present correctional facilities often promote criminal activities and are the root of the problem. The society needs drastic changes in order to instill the sense of forgiveness and help criminals rehabilitate.

IELTS Essay Sample Question # Advertisements

You should spend 40 minutes on this task.

Advertisements have harmful effects on the society. Do you agree or disagree?

You should write 250 words.

SAMPLE ANSWER

[Paraphrasing the question]

Advertisements have a deepening impact on the lives of the individuals and society at large. Since the inception of advertisements, there have been debates on whether it informs or misleads the society. With institutions in place to check the content and correctness of an advertisement, in my opinion, for the most part, advertisements focus on informing more than misleading.

[Body Part I]

Countries all over the world have powerful consumer watch bodies or self-governing agencies to ensure no harm to consumers. For example, the Advertisement Standards Council of India regulates advertisements in India. The job of these institutions is to ensure that the consumer gets the right description of the product being sold.

[Body Part II]

The entry of internet in the market has changed the game altogether. With more people having access to the internet, individuals are more likely to do a market research before buying an expensive product. Few people, often do a comparison between different products, on the price and understand better before buying.

[Conclusion]

With a knowledge base of zillion bytes and information on a click, fooling consumers has become difficult for the advertising companies. In addition, various regulatory bodies ensure that advertisements in large have a positive impact on the society at large. Although one cannot deny the manipulating powers of the advertisement, several other sources have come up to ensure less of that happens.
