IELTS Letter Writing Sample # Gifting Ideas to Friend

Write a letter to your English speaking friend who is visiting you soon and asking you what presents your family would like. Write:
– Who your family consists of
– What kind of presents each member would like
– How you feel about your friend coming to visit

Sample Answer:

Dear Jane,

I am so pleased to know that you are visiting us next week. We would love to spend time with you and everyone is excited to see you. In your last letter you asked about what presents my family would like, which is such a sweet gesture. I can certainly say that your visit itself is not less than a gift for all of us.

You asked about my family. We are five members, including my mother, wife, son, daughter and me. My mother is 67 years old and is fond of reading spiritual literature. She’ll be delighted to receive any book about Osho, Art of Living or any other spiritual publication. As of my wife, Ritu, she loves perfumes and floral fragrances are her favorite.

Aayan, my 7-year old son is crazy for Hot Wheels cars while my 4-year old daughter, Rishika loves Barbie dolls. I wouldn’t hesitate in asking you to bring my most loved dark chocolates that you gifted on our last Anniversary. I really loved their unique flavor.
That is all about the presents but what we are really excited about is your visit and a chance to serve you with all our love.

Cheers,
Raghav

General Writing Test # Complaint Letter Rented Apartment Problems

IELTS General Writing Letter. You should spend 20 minutes on this task.

You and your family have just rented an apartment and one or two problems occurred. Write a letter to the landlord.
– Describe the problems.
– Tell him what you want him to do.

Sample Answer:

Dear Mr. Gaur,

Hope you are doing great. We have just shifted to your apartment at Raj Nagar this week and discovered a few inconveniences which I would like to bring to your notice.

The first issue is that the sink in the kitchen is dripping. Every time we use the sink, it gets clogged and water starts dripping. It is quite stinky as well. It looks like a drainage system obstruction. The second concern is that the flush of the bathroom attached with the kids’ room is out of order. It could either be due to a damaged pipe or hindrance in the flow of water in the tank.

Both these problems are causing a lot of inconvenience for my family and need your immediate attention. I request you to look into this matter and take the appropriate action at the earliest possible.

I look forward to receiving a prompt response.

Yours sincerely

However, there are no suitable current job openings in the career section of your website so your guidance regarding the opportunities or internship programs would be appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you and joining the organisation soon.

IELTS Speaking Part I Sample Questions # Toy

Growing up is the most beautiful thing about life because when you grow up you start understanding things in a more beautiful way. However, we still cherish our childhood as the best part of our lives. This time we are looking at something without which our childhood can never be complete, toys.

Did you like toys as a child?

As a child, when everyone else was fascinated by toys, I preferred playing with my friends rather than toys. Yes, I did like toys but not to an extent where I could spend my days with the toy.

What was your favorite toy?

Growing up Barbie has been one of the most sought after toy of our generation and I was no exception to it. I loved Barbie and the little amazing thing called Barbie house. I remember a friend of mine had the largest collection of Barbie and Barbie houses. We friends would go to her house and play with them. Dress the barbie for a party and so much more!

Should parents buy many toys for their children?

Toys surely are important for children but I think parents must focus more on getting sports equipment for their children rather than toys. Learning a sport teaches so much more to a child than a toy can ever do. A sport offers a child learnings like a team player, leadership, focus, patience, hard work and so much more! Or probably some other artistic form like guitar or painting. For a child, it is important that he or she works on his or her extracurricular activities more than anything else.

What are the benefits of children playing with toys?

Toys have an impact on children like no other thing. A baby is curious to learn about the world around them and they have so much to learn. Every new shape and color and the voice teach a lot of things to the infants. Different contrasting colors develop the vision and toys like building blocks help in hand-eye coordination. Growing up there are toys like letters and the one on language skills, that help a child in improving more.

What are the disadvantages of children playing with toys?

Toys do make children learn a lot of things but in turn having less number of toys is more beneficial than having lots of them. With fewer toys, a child learns to use his or her imagination to make games.Children with fewer toys establish better social skills. They learn how to share and develop a greater love for reading, writing, and art. Also, a child with fewer toys is more likely to be less selfish because he or she knows that they are not getting everything!
