SAMPLE ANSWER
An increase in population world wide has marked a dramatic decrease in the natural resources. Some people are of the opinion that at such rates of depletion, sooner we will have no natural resources for the economic growth of the country. However, others believe that with the advancement in technology, ways to preserve natural resources will pop up.
On one hand, natural resources are surely depleting at faster rates than ever before. Main reason being their increased demands. For instance, with more people have two wheeler vehicles, the consumption of petrol has risen, leading to the fall in its amount. Lesser the petrol, higher will be the prices and more money will get spent on the transportation, dampening the economic growth.
On the other hand, with the advancement in technology it is possible that we might not even use the natural resources at the rate at which we are presently using. For instance, it is quite possible that within ten years a technology to utilize wind energy more effectively is made. This will surely decrease the use of non-renewable resources, leading to their prevention and increased economic growth (wind is free).
Overall, levels of natural resources are surely going down but it is no doubt that with advancement in technology, the alternative methods will be used more effectively in near future, improving the economic and environmental standards.
