Go Australia

AUSTRALIA. I guess the name is enough to bring your ears to what I am about to say. It is a dream destination for many who want to study abroad. And if you are one of them, I am sure you must be curious how do people live there, think there? What do Australians believe in? How will I adjust? Well, it is not like living with ISUS. Australians are as human as you are. May be in a different way.
So, before you land in Australia get your facts straight about it-:

FREEDOM MATTERS

Australians place a high value on independence and personal choice. Your teacher for a course will never tell you what you should do. But rather will give you choices. It is then completely your decision. In short, no spoon feeding happens.

OPINIONS

Australians believe in opinions. The teacher expects you to speak out your opinion on a particular topic and then a valid reason behind it.

EQUALITY

Australians are uncomfortable with the status difference. You may find people younger to you calling you by your first name or vice versa.

BALANCE

Australians believe in work, life balance. You might end up finding that the one that excels in your class is also the life of the party. So, if you want to gel up with them, don’t just study, participate in different activities as well.

PRIVACY MATTERS

Their notion of privacy means that areas such as financial matters, appearance and relationships are only discussed with close friends. They may tell you if they want to but you are supposed not to ask them.

Remember, no one is weird, above or low. No one is better than another, we all are different. So, respect the difference, embrace their culture and fly high.

Follow Your Dream

You need a IELTS band 6 or above if you want to study in good universities abroad. IELTS is a tough exam and it is not easy to get a high band especially if you have a broken English. There are four sections of IELTS -Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. You really need to work hard, very hard to get in there.

I know you must have heard all of this. It may be the case that you don’t have a strong command over the language. Most probably because you haven’t done your education in an English medium school. But here I tell you the truth. You are no less than any one out there who knows English. IELTS like any other competition is like a competition. It hardly matters how good you are, what matters is how well you prepare yourself and how well you perform on that particular day.

It doesn’t matters whether you know English, what matters is whether you are ready to make efforts. Whether you are ready to read newspaper, listen to BBC news. What matters is whether you are looking at how good your competitors are or are you looking at yourself. Improving yourself day by day. It doesn’t matter how good others are but how good you are than your previous version. And yes, “you” do matter. Because it is your exam, it is your fight. You are competing with yourself. You are fighting for your dream.

So, anyone out there, who thinks that they cant do this because may be they are very poor at English. Or may there competitors are really good. stop thinking. And start doing. Take the first step. Don’t look at others. Be sincere, work hard and follow your dreams. You never know what surprise life has in store for you.

Don’t fear. Fly High. All The Best.

Global Opportunities For Indians

You won’t become Steve Jobs in a night. Nor will you be the next Raghuram Rajan on your arrival. Don’t even expect people asking your autograph when you arrive. So the point is if you think you will be some kind of celebrity once you arrive from the abroad study. This is not happening. So what should you do next? Cancel the plan!! Wait. Don’t be so fast. Although abroad study doesn’t make you a celebrity over night but it can always be the first step to becoming one. Here’s how !

Opens new doors and windows

Doing the same thing at the same place again and again can end up making you like a machine that does the same thing and hence loses importance. Abroad study increases your horizons. You start approaching things in a new way, in a different way. May be you don’t become famous but surely you now have a wider friend circle. And it is this circle that usually becomes your network. The network that plays a vital role in your career. Remember, once you leave your comfort zone you never remain the same.

Learn a new language

Why do we speak so fluent Hindi? It is not because we are Indians but because as we grow up we hear it. And then we pick it up. So we speak it. Not to impress someone but to communicate. We never go to some kind of coaching to learn it. And this is exactly what happens when you go to abroad. You need their language. Because it is the only way you can communicate. So you grasp it. Both the language and the way it is spoken. But why is it important? Because the world is a global village now. We want people who can interact with more people. And knowing a language can always be an advantage.

Flexibility

You must be aware that now an organization is not opened at one place. It is all global. So it be possible that you have to interact with a client who is in Singapore or may be Africa. Abroad study makes you understand and respect cultures. How to adjust with people who look different, talk different and think different. And this, acceptance is what is required.
So, don’t contemplate more. “study abroad” is not about studying alone. It is an experience that you hold and that makes you different.
