Sample Answer

I have come across a few important and valuable things lying unclaimed in different places. These range from wallets and handbags to mobile phones and cameras. Many people tend to lose such things due to their negligence. I have always followed a rule to contact the owner and the relevant authorities and inform them of the situation.

One such memorable incident was when I found a wallet lying on a bench outside an eatery near a famous shopping complex in my city. I went there to eat something for my lunch and saw it while I was making my way into the eatery. It was an expensive leather wallet and nobody came to claim it while I waited there for a few minutes. I called a wait staff from the eatery and picked up the wallet in his presence to identify the owner. The wallet belonged to a middle-aged businessman and contained a lot of money, a few credit cards, and all the basic identity cards such as the driving license and the voter identification card. I opened its flaps to retrieve a piece of paper with the owner’s contact information in it. I took it out and called on the number to apprise the person of the situation.

The owner was worried upon hearing this and came back quickly as he was still in the vicinity of the shopping complex. I gave him the wallet and he confirmed receiving it as he had left it. He was very thankful and praised me for my actions and my honesty.

IELTS Cue Card Sample Answer # Help Received

There are so many times that we help people and more often receive help. Help is the only way, people  believe, that we remain human. A person who cannot help others is of no use being called human. Let us today have a look at a cue card that talks about a help that you received.

Describe a time when someone helped you.
You should say:
  • Who helped you
  • When it was
  • Why s/he helped you
And describe how you felt about it.
Sample Answer One

There have been many a times when I received help and it is something so often that I wonder what would have happened had I not received the help. But, I clearly remember a day when I was helped and I felt really nice.

I had to go to my brother’s college for some work and I was not aware of how to reach there. So, the local transport dropped me at a place and I thought from there the college would be a mere km away. Thinking that I started walking down the road but after walking around an hour I could not find even a hint of his college. As I was exhausted and started asking people as to where the college is, there came a boy in his scooty and told me that the college is really far and there is no way I can reach there on my foot. He asked me to get into his scooty.

Initially, I was scared, because I had really no idea about the place and it was all jungle around. So, either ways I hopped onto his scooty and he did dropped me outside the college. There were times when I was worried but he later asked me if I wanted to go back along with him as well. Although, I refused that help, I was really happy and felt grateful for his help. He did knew me and just like others he could have behaved strangely but he left me to my destination and in no ways sounded someone who wanted any evil out of me.

It was a true pure help and I wished him all the best for his life.

Sample Answer Two

There are so many times that I get help but the one time I remember getting help was when I was in eighth grade. I had decided to participate in our school annual festival and was among the seven girls who were part of the dance team. We used to practice a lot and everything but I was one of the weakest. There were times when it took me days to get  the step right and then there were days when I would just even after trying so much could not get the step right.

Those were some irritating days and after some time even my team members started coming in and telling that I should rather leave the group. My initial reaction was that I wont be leaving the group. I have practiced and I will do good. Although I had said that, I felt bad and I started crying in the stairs. May be my teacher came to know about it or whatever, she called me and told me that in life it is not how much you know but how much you practice to get what you want in life.

She told me that I had done a great thing and I should move on with it. After that, she started teaching me extra lesson for the dance and I was able to actually dance well than most of the girls in the school.

I remember it till now because it was for the first time, I can recall, I stood for myself. And then people did started coming in to help me. It felt great because I felt as if I am important as well and my opinion does matter. It has helped me a great deal to do things in life the way I do them now.

library Best IELTS Band 7 coaching in dehradun

Sample Answer

Every child studies in the school or college, tuitions, and at their homes. There are many places one can choose to study after class to learn and revise. I personally prefer to study indoors due to various reasons. The best place where I can study is a library.

There is a huge library near my house. The place is enormous and is divided into two separate reading halls that can accommodate more than five hundred people at a time. The library houses a large collection of books on every subject along with daily newspapers and magazines from all the leading publications. The building has a lot of amenities such as washrooms, air conditioning, soundproofed walls, and a cafeteria amongst other facilities. I visited here for the first time with my elder sister when I was in the eighth standard. After that, I became a regular visitor due to its close proximity and ease of access. It was the most favourable place for borrowing books and studying.

It offers an affordable membership renewable on a yearly basis. I have availed this membership and spend two hours each day in the library to finish my homework amongst other things. Not only do I complete my assignments and browse the internet, but also read the newspapers, novels and other works of fiction. I feel comfortable in studying here because of the ambience of the place. It is a very peaceful and quiet place with extensive study material. I can completely concentrate on my studies without being distracted by any sort of noises.

IELTS Cue Card # You learned from a member of your family, IELTS BAND7 DEHRADUN

Sample Answer :

I grew up in a small family with 4 members. They are my mother, father, my sister and our dog named Oreo. Because we were so less in number, I got to observe them very closely and I had the opportunity to learn many good things and values from them and it is in fact natural that a kid would learn things from his/her family members.

I picked up strong determination from my mother, reading and artistic abilities from my father, understanding and compassion from my sister and lot of adorable tactics from my dog. I have learned how to handle head-end stress and bad times from my parents. I learnt a lot of things from them, not that other things I learned from other family members are of less importance, but the values that I learned from my parents are different and have had a long lasting impression on me till date.

I find my dad very charming, caring and he holds a great personality and aura. He has been a voracious reader and because of that, he is more learned and wise than people of his age. Initially, I thought that how could he know so much? Over the time I became close to him because of my fascination with stories, and he used to often help me with my studies. He started inspiring me to read novels and books other than my academic ones. He read me stories  with vivid audio change and with a lot of verbal exaggeration and that helped me grow an interest towards books.

I am grateful to him that he so painstakingly explained different topics and help me grow good as a person. Because of his contribution, I have started reading books of different genres whenever I get time which I think is a better investment than spending time idly.

I have carried ahead with passing on this legacy of inspiring the young family members and cousins to read books, I often read them stories which would be interesting to them and give them sweets, candies, ice-cream as a reward on completing the story.

Follow-up Questions:

Q1. Why should we learn from others?
Ans. As a matter of fact we are individuals and everyone of us is different. This gives us ground for learning a lot of new things. It gives us the opportunity to identify our own strengths and accordingly work on the weaknesses. It helps us grow as a human being.

Q2. What are the importance of having friends?
Ans. Friends play a very important role in our lives. They help us to be strong and stay motivated when times are bad. They stand as a never ending support in our lives. I think one should always value friends.
